General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Rory Gibson (Michael Corinthos) has recently embarked on an exciting cinematic journey! Rory just wrapped up his first full length feature film, called “How Jessica Died”, with a unique crowdfunding twist.
“How Jessica Died” is a gripping thriller supported by a unique Hollywood crowdfunding initiative.
This independent psychological thriller, crafted by Emmy-nominated Rich Nathanson, offers a haunting exploration of trust, control, and survival-all while being propelled by one of the most inventive crowdfunding efforts Hollywood has ever witnessed.
In “How Jessica Died,” Mel McComb takes on the role of Jessica, a woman paralyzed by anxiety who withdraws from society-that is, until she encounters Billy, portrayed by Gibson.
He introduces her to The Grounds, a remote, enclosed compound in the desert where twelve individuals coexist in what seems to be harmony. “Being in a place with just 12 other people you can trust is far better than existing in a world with billions you can’t,” Jessica thinks- until the tranquility starts to fall apart.
Writer and director Rich Nathanson characterizes the film as “a twisty, Twilight Zone-esque psychological thriller and a disturbing cautionary tale.” This project represents Nathanson’s debut as a feature film director, although his extensive writing background encompasses collaborations with major companies such as Sony, MGM, Showtime, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Discovery.
In addition to the intriguing plot, what is particularly noteworthy is the film’s groundbreaking 5-star crowdfunding initiative via Seed & Spark. Contributors have the opportunity to enjoy exclusive experiences-going beyond mere merchandise or shoutouts, they can partake in in-person lunches with some of the most innovative minds in the entertainment industry.
Among the enticing rewards are a delightful lunch with Bill Prady, the brilliant creator of The Big Bang Theory.
Also, a lunch with the renowned magician and entertainer Penn Jillette, known for his work with Penn & Teller. Additionally, you will have the chance to meet Michael Price, a talented writer and producer from The Simpsons, and Steven Banks, the head writer for SpongeBob SquarePants.
Not to mention, you could also connect with Peter Atkins, the screenwriter behind Hellraiser. Furthermore, there are additional opportunities to engage with Todd Sheridan Perry, the VFX supervisor for Black Panther.
Another “lunchmate” for contributors is Adam Rifkin, the director of Detroit Rock City, who is currently at the helm of the film Toad, featuring stars James Franco and Tiffany Haddish.
Nathanson described the collaboration for this campaign as “a little crazy — but maybe it was meant to be.” He elaborated that after reaching out to just one contact, the idea began to snowball, as industry friends enthusiastically rallied together to support this exciting project. This is one of the most intriguing ways to fund the creation of a movie that there ever has been.
