General Hospital Spoilers: Cameron Mathison Stuns Fans By Justifying Drew’s Controversial Actions

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal as Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) has gone from heroic Navy Seal to corrupt Congressman, it’s been more and more difficult for his portrayer to make excuses! Every time Cameron Mathison thinks his dastardly character can stoop no further, it seems like the lower and lower he goes; even so, he can justify some of Drew’s actions.
Drew Turned From A Loving And Heroic Father To Jealous And Selfish Creep
Drew turned from a loving and heroic father to a jealous and selfish creep, and that change seemed to happen during his time incarcerated in Pentonville.
That in itself was a rather unselfish and heroic move, because he did the time for insider trading to keep Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) from doing the time.
He wasn’t totally innocent, as he and Michael Corinthos (now Rory Gibson) had been plotting a takeover of ELQ-and told Carly.
She had bought stock, actually overbought stock to help their company at the time, Aurora Media, even putting her hotel in hock-that’s how she lost it to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
But something happened to Drew while inside the prison-but did it change him, or return him to what he really was originally-that doesn’t make sense!

There’s One Instance Where Cameron Could Understand Why Drew Did What He Did
However, there was a particular moment when the actor didn’t fully perceive his on-screen counterpart’s questionable actions as entirely wrong.
That was when he sought a restraining order against his daughter Emily “Scout” Quartermaine’s (Cosette Abinante) grandmother.
At that time, as you may remember, Alexis was trying to gain custody of Drew and the ill-fated mother Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) daughter. “Even though he’s undoubtedly a terrible father, his reaction is the one thing that almost resonated with me as a dad,” he shared with Soap Opera Digest.
The actor, who is a real-life father of two, explained, “That one was simple to rationalize, in my opinion.”
Drew Was Forced To Lift The Restraining Orders Except Against Jason And Danny
Certainly, in the episode that aired on Tuesday, Drew found himself in a position where he had to remove the restraining order that he had placed against Alexis and her family.
However, he wouldn’t remove it against Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam’s son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn). Drew offered this as a condition for the attorney agreeing to represent Willow in her case.
This clearly illustrates that Drew is prepared to disregard the very rules he established when he believes that the outcome he desires justifies the actions he takes.
Now, if Alexis gets the case dismissed against Willow for Drew’s attempted murder, will he reinstate the restraining orders, or stay true to his word?
