The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Fans are Furious For A Cane & Traci Hookup

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recently brought up some interesting history when Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) encountered each other with no less than town gossip Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) watching on in horror.

Is the show signaling a return to the past where Cane and Traci get a do-over? Some fans are amused, some are in disbelief, and some are urging a May-December romance. Let’s unpack this soapilicious situation Y&R fans!

Traci and Cane Back in the Day

In case you missed it, Traci and Phyllis were at the bar when Cane approached. Traci and Cane greeted each other and made small talk. The show alluded to a romance when Traci mentioned that she “turned him down.”
This was in reference to Cane and Traci’s flirtation years ago. Phyllis’ jaw dropped to the floor and it was a delicious moment that conveyed her possible interest in Cane as more than a boss.

Cane Needs Regulation

We’re shipping Traci and Cane to take a stab at love. What could go wrong? They’re both of age and clearly have at least a casual interest in each other. And at the end of the day, Cane desperately needs what Traci has in spades: warmth, logic, and a soft touch.

She has deployed these skills over the years, sometimes to great effect as in quelling family wars, but she’s also been burned by rogues. Traci would make a great mate for Cane, one who has the power to challenge him and soften his desperado edges.

Traci Needs Love

Secondly, Traci deserves another shot at love. Evil Martin Laurant (Alan Cousins) put her through the wringer and she is still hurting.

We’re not saying that being involved with Cane would be like taking on a fixer-upper or DIY project, but clearly he could use a leveling of his foundation.

Maybe Traci needs to write a book on trains—what better source than the man who lives on one and has a caboose on every continent? Maybe she can spin it so that train life is the new van life.
