While it turned out that he didn’t have brain cancer at all, some fans think that the writers would have been better off killing the character anyway.
That’s because Liam isn’t really doing much for the show. If he’s not going back and forth between Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Steffy Forrester (Jaqueline MacInnes Wood) there really isn’t much of a purpose for him to be around, right?
Of course, B&B fans sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some fans and critics even commented with, “He adds nothing new to the show by surviving. Liam dead however would have given us so much more!”
“Like if he died, Bill would have spiraled and we might have had Wyatt return to deal with it. Katie might have tried to help – or keep Will from ground zero.”
What’s Next For Liam Spencer?
Another critic wrote, “Not upset he didn’t die lol but Liam is such a wishy-washy character, I agree he doesn’t add much.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Don’t necessarily want to see Liam dead but the show does need some new life written into it because most of the cast is getting tired, older and boring with the same old repetitive storylines.”
“It may be too soon for Beth, Kelly, Hayes and Douglas to all of a sudden be teenagers, but why not have a new family or two move into town to shake things up so it’s no longer only about the Forresters, the Logans and the Spencers?”
