General Hospital Spoilers: Fans React Strongly as Nathan’s Amnesia Storyline Sparks Backlash

General Hospital: Nathan West (Ryan Paevey)

General Hospital spoilers gush fans are reeling from Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) jaw-dropping return, but his strange amnesia is souring the excitement for many! While some are thrilled to pick up where Nathan left off — his heroic heart intact after surviving a 2018 “death” when shot in the chest by Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) — the memory wipe of the last seven years feels like a cop-out.

Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is in a coma, her life rebuilt with Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and their son James West (Gary James Fuller) has never met his dad.

Sure, some fans love Nathan’s comeback, but others hate the amnesia angle, craving answers about his missing years and potential ties to Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) faked death. Are these stories connected, or is GH dropping the ball?

A Frustrating Blank Slate

Nathan’s crash into Port Charles — confirmed by DNA and fingerprints — promised a thrilling resurrection, but waking up with no memory of the past seven years or how he ended up in that truck has fans groaning.

Facebook posts lament, “Amnesia? Meh! I’d rather him have been brainwashed or a doppelganger!” Without clues about his whereabouts — possibly a WSB hideout or lab like Britt’s Five Poppies ordeal — the story feels stalled. Maxie’s coma delays their reunion, and Spinelli’s devotion complicates things, leaving James caught in the middle.

Fans expected Nathan’s return to spill secrets, but his blank slate leaves us hungry for more.

There is a Missing Link

Meanwhile, some fans are convinced Nathan’s survival ties to Britt’s faked death; she vanished to escape the Hook Killer, only to resurface in Croatia.

Was Nathan held in the same lab, perhaps by Pascal (Marc Forget) or Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota)? His amnesia blocks overlap, frustrating those who hoped his story would explain Britt’s.

If Britt protected him, her secrecy with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) makes sense, but the lack of clarity irks fans.

Social media cries for connection between brother and sister. Without it, Nathan’s return feels like a missed opportunity to unravel a bigger conspiracy.

Maxie’s World Divides Down Fan Base Lines

When Maxie wakes, Nathan’s amnesia could break her heart — her life with Spinelli and James faces upheaval with a husband who doesn’t remember her.

Some fans root for a “Naxie” reunion, amnesia be damned, while others cheer for “Spixie,” arguing Spinelli’s loyalty trumps Nathan’s return.

James meeting his dad adds emotional weight, but Nathan’s memory gap risks alienating him.

Will GH deliver the answers fans crave, or keep Nathan’s past a blank? This amnesia plot could make or break his comeback! Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this shakes out.

Good grief, he’s only been back a couple of days. Give it time and we’ll find out the details. This isn’t one of those prime time shows that has everything all figured out in an hour…more like 40 minutes with ads. It’s an ongoing serial. Sometimes I wonder why some of the so called fans even watch a soap at all, cause they don’t seem to understand how they work. They thrive on drama, they know happy people get boring, they’re very unrealistic most of the time, and some storylines go on for months, even years, before anything is resolved. And that’s just for starters.

For years since Nathan “died”, the fans have bi tched and moaned about wanting him back (not me, but that’s beside the point). Now he’s finally back, and after about 5 minutes screen time, they’re already bi tching and moaning about it. Is anyone ever satisfied? Geez, life is too short to spend it complaining about things you can’t control.
