The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Backed Into a Corner – Reckless Alliance Could Explode Without Warning

Phyllis’s dangerous choices backfire as her latest alliance proves unstable, leaving the door open for shocking twists in Genoa City.

The Young and The Restless: Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) wants to be someone in Genoa City, Wisconsin. So, she’s trying to use that drive and the kidnapping experience earlier this year to force her goal into reality.

Phyllis is hoping to get rich quickly by playing off what Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) did when his father supposedly helped him obtain billions of dollars. But not following the rules and attempting to circumvent all known methods of obtaining a position of power comes with a price.

Cane is letting Phyllis believe that she is on his team. He needs allies to enact his plan to take over GC’s legacy businesses, and Cane is mining Phyllis’ frustration and desire to prove her perceived enemies wrong.

Kidnapped With Sharon Newman

Being kidnapped would have been bad enough. Yet, Phyllis’ situation was exponentially compounded when she came to and realized that one of the two banes of her existence these past three decades was with her.

Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins) used Phyllis and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) as human lab rats. Capturing and placing them at a remote location in a locked room, which was an abandoned mental health facility.

Cousins’ evil twin character wanted to prove that he could match his deceased brother’s (Alan Laurent, Cousins in a dual role) acumen in the psychology field. He intended to do that by forcing Phyllis and Sharon to bond, which they did.

Phyllis and Sharon refused to allow Martin to know that his plan worked when they last met with him, which was in the prison where Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) was interrogating him. The unlikely scenario produced respect between the ladies who once fought bitterly over Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) heart.

Loved Ones And Friends Disregarded

Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) are two of Phyllis’ oldest and dearest friends. Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) was written to a confidant status during the latter part of Morgan’s second stint on the show as that character.

More than anyone, possibly other than her children, Michael has had the most pointed conversations with Phyllis. He has no qualms about telling her when she is wrong.

But Phyllis isn’t open to hearing what anyone has to say as she pursues her comeback ambitions. It stands to reason that she’ll alienate her loved ones and friends if she goes along with Cane’s treacherous scheme through to its realization.

Danny Romalotti’s Remarriage Creates A Change In Plan?

Of course, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) also holds sway with Phyllis. If she could redo one part of her life, she might not have told Danny that he was Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) father when he wasn’t.

Danny is set to remarry the other bane of Phyllis’ existence in October. Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) was her original rival and enemy before Sharon matched Bell’s character in that low spot.

There’s no doubt that Phyllis will react when learning about Danny and Christine’s coming nuptials. That could be the only event that distracts or even prevents Phyllis from helping Cane attack people. But then again, knowing Phyllis, it might also serve as heightened motivation.
