The Young And The Restless Hayley Erin Warns A “Tougher” Claire Newman Is Coming

The Young and the Restless spoilers imply that Claire Newman is having a hard time right now. Not only is she dealing with her father, Cole Howard’s (J. Eddie Peck) demise, but she’s also still having to face the fact that her grandpa, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), doesn’t approve of her relationship with her boyfriend, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and he took drastic measures to break them up.

Claire recently snapped back at The Moustache when he attempted to snub Kyle at Cole’s memorial, and her portrayer, Hayley Erin, hints this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Claire Newman Will Forgive Victor Newman

Erin recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD). She told the online magazine that Claire’s having a hard time with Cole’s passing; after all, she just found her biological parents, and one of them was suddenly taken from her.

With that said, ever since everyone who attended Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) party in France has returned, Claire has felt something was off. Hayley tells SOD that she loves the fact that Claire can “read people” and how she knows Kyle so well.

This is interesting since Kyle did tell her a fib about how far things went with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) in Nice and how he was on to the brunette’s scheme.

What he failed to tell Claire was that he and Audra shared a steamy moment in an attempt to trap her. Still, Erin acknowledged that Claire is ‘eager’ to believe Kyle, so she’ll leave this be, for now. It also sounds like she’ll let things slide for ‘family sake’ with Victor, who essentially bribed Audra into the plan.

Claire notes that she’ll forgive Victor, stating, “I think the wishful thinking of having the family that she’s always wanted, she’s willing to look past certain things and forgive Victor and accept him and accept his apology.” With that said, Audra won’t get the same grace as family.

Audra Charles Needs To Watch Out

Erin goes on to hint that the goody-two-shoes Claire everyone is used to seeing may be a thing of the past – especially where Audra is concerned.

The actress states that as Audra continues to be rude, she will continue digging a hole with Claire, and “… Claire isn’t biting her tongue anymore, and I love that.”

The actress adds, “I think it’s time that we see that kind of tougher side of her – and I’m so happy to get to watch her stick up for herself and not let anyone walk all over her. She’s definitely going to give Audra a taste of her own medicine.”
