The recast of the Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) character in 2019 became one of the more brilliant moves this show made in years. Atkinson killed it instantly and then just kept getting better.
Atkinson arguably delivered some of the better performances on this soap since he first appeared six years ago. Why he didn’t agree to have his name entered into the Daytime Emmy Award nominations in past seasons is an intriguing question.
Thomas left for Europe because Hope rejected his multiple marriage pleas. Their situation was twisted because she never loved him, but agreed to a transactional relationship, if one even wants to apply that term.
How Does Paris Buckingham Factor In?
Thomas’ engagement to Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) was a shocker. That information was revealed when the pair returned with Douglas Forrester (Henry Samiri) in the recent past.
Paris’ name was recently referenced by her since-arrested mother. Grace Buckingham’s (Cassandra Creech) pressured existence resulted in her conning Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) into giving her a million dollars as part of a fake brain tumor scam.
Will Thomas and Paris remain a couple, or have they split?
Atkinson’s return to the cast is intentional, with Thomas’ life intersecting with multiple other important characters, including Hope. Her feelings about him might be altered depending on what happens with Carter.
Carter Walton Has Another Option
Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) returned from her self-imposed exile in recent weeks. She was scorned by Carter when he chose Hope and returned to France.
It’s great to see the highly engaging Hilaire back on the show. Her character is unique and projects as a better long-term fit with Carter because Daphne is totally devoted to him.
Unless there is another unknown man, Carter is the one Daphne wants. Fans will see if Hope feels the same about him once Thomas returns. Plus, devoted viewers know that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is totally healthy and wants to pursue renewed love with Hope.
