In 2025, several celebrities expanded their families, including Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris. Alongside his wife, Vick Hope, Harris celebrated the arrival of their newborn son Micah in late July. And a day ago, he shared some pics on social media. Reactions to the post got some fan gagging and wishing they had paid more attention to the tweets on X.

X Is Sometimes Overlooked

Elon Musk claims that X grew into the biggest news source on the internet. Well, a lot of people moved away to BlueSky and Threads because they don’t like the platform. But thanks to Calvin’s post about his baby, it seems that some folks rue the day they discounted the platform as trustworthy.

Many people saw various posts on X and one of them was by the BBC News account. The caption said:

Calvin Harris shares placenta photos after birth of son.

In the comments section, people wondered why on earth Calvin Harris would do that. One follower commented, “I have photos of both of my placentas but I’d not be sharing them with people…they aren’t pretty!”

Another comment read, “Why would anyone think that the ‘public’ want to see a bit of an internal organ from of his wife? It’s not disgusting, but it is pointless & silly.”

Fans Should Have Taken More Notice On X?

Obviously, many people saw the tweet and then went to find the post that Calvin Harris shared on Instagram. There, they discovered several photos that seemed sweet and tender. One of them showed Calvin cuddling his newborn.

Another one revealed him kneeling next to the birthing water tub. But without warning, the fourth photo showed the entire placenta in all its raw, bloody glory. And since so many people felt grossed out by it, we are not going to show it here.

One of Calvin’s 11.4 million followers wrote, “Should’ve listened to that tweet.” In the replies so far, over 165 people agreed, and the comment alone garnered more than 50K likes.

Here are a few reactions in those replies:

  • Yep I am traumatized.
  • I was just thinking the same, but I’m nosy!
  • Nothing prepared me for the placenta pic!
  • Anyone else here from twitter[?]
  • Swiping: “Oh wow!…. That’s amazing….. Congratula….. WHAT THE F**K!?”

Much Too Graphic

One follower hoped the couple wouldn’t “eat the placenta.” Well, more pics showed it being dried and placed into capsules for consumption. That’s not uncommon these days. But certainly, viewers might have preferred to see the end product only, rather than the raw version of it.

What are your thoughts? Placentas are natural, but should Calvin Harris have put a warning for sensitive viewers? Did the post reinforce X as a valid source of news? Let us know in the comments below, and come back here often for all your celebrity dad news and updates.
