The Young And The Restless Jermaine Rivers Confirms Departure – Damian Kane Exits Y&R

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that fans were shocked during the Monday, July 14 episode when a “fun” trip to Nice, France, ended in the brutal demise of Damian Kane, played by Jermaine Rivers.

The actor hopped on the social media platform X shortly after his character was stabbed to confirm his exit from the show.

Goodbye, Damian Kane

Kane joined the Y&R in early February of this year, after Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford) asked Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to help her find her estranged son and his long-lost brother.

There were a ton of question marks around Damian’s morals and agenda; especially after Damian’s friend and colleague, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), paraded around as him for a short while.

On an X post, Rivers wrote, “Feeling extremely grateful for the opportunity to bring Damian Kane to life.”

He went on to say, “Thank you to [Y&R Head Writer and Executive Producer] Josh Griffith and the rest of the producers at Y&R and CBS for giving me this amazing opportunity to be a part of such an iconic show.”

He closed off with, “Huge thank you to fans who tuned in and showed love. You guys are Awesome! The work continues…”

Damian Kane’s Legacy

Damian Kane started off in mystery, and while he had conflict with his mom, half-brother, and even Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) when he first entered Genoa City, that all eventually faded, and he was even able to enjoy a little romance with Lily on his way out.

Sadly, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Damian shared a drink and a chat somewhere in the chateau’s maze – a drink that was obviously tampered with! Both men were drugged, and someone unknown pulled a knife on Damian, ending his life.

Unfortunately, Nate and Amy won’t get the time with Damian that they had hoped for, but this is how things sometimes roll in the land of daytime drama.
