General Hospital Spoilers: Dominic Zamprogna Spills About Dante Going Berserk on Gio

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Dominic Zamprogna is talking about his character Dante Falconeri’s out of character raging at Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) this week.

Dante is a detective who is used to dealing with life and death issues, but this time it involved his son and he was totally unprepared for it.

Dante Falconeri Lost it on Gio

Dante was beside himself to learn that Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) nearly died. He blamed Gio when in fact Gio was the one who tried to help him after finding him unconscious at a college beach party.

He did the best he could–brought him to the Quartermaine boathouse to sleep it off. But Rocco had alcohol poisoning, something that adult Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) realized. Rocco was taken to the hospital and had his stomach pumped and is now ok.

Dante Went Berserk on Gio

Fans know that Gio is Dante’s unknown son. The scenes were unsettling and Dominic Zamprogna talked to Soap Opera Digest about railing at Gio. Dante recently lost Sam McCall and gained his ex-wife Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) who had been in a coma.

Dante has a lot on his plate and Zamprogna said: “His whole life has gotten turned upside down, and in that moment with Gio, it all just becomes too much for him.”

Dante was scared he might lose his son, too, and we can understand his anger. But he has held onto that anger, not letting Gio have a break.

Dante Is Leaning on Gio

Zamprogna explained his character’s reaction by noting that “when you’re in that frame of mind, you don’t always have the ability to take the right action.”

Apparently show runners warned him ahead of time how berserk Dante would go and he responded by trying “to find the truth in it.”

Gio is Dante’s Son
