The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Summer Takes Nothing For Chance – Kyle’s Bond With Claire Threatened

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) wants Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) back. She hasn’t been in love with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) the entire time they’ve been together, and it appears his role as a placeholder is ending.

Summer and Chance’s honest conversation about their relationship addresses the elephant in the room. That cheeky reference relates to Kyle and Summer’s remaining feelings for him.

However, Kyle is in love with Summer’s cousin. Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) is different than anyone he’s ever known, with Summer being the adoptive mother of his son and nothing more.

Claire Newman Is Different And Isn’t Blameless

Yes, Claire is undoubtedly different. Viewers are suspending disbelief in accepting that Kyle would embrace a woman who was willingly involved in a scheme to kill multiple people that also endangered Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) on numerous occasions.

Claire was a baby when Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) stole her at birth from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). But Erin’s character was a full-grown adult when she agreed to pose as an impostor while working for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) at Newman Media.

Erin’s character also knowingly participated in a plot that would have killed her parents and other members of the Newman family. Yet, Claire did turn against Jordan in the climax to that part of the storyline, which makes all that’s happened since, including the bond with Kyle, plausible.

Kyle Abbott Wants To Move Forward

Kyle dumped Summer in one of the crueler and hard-to-believe marital breaks in recent years. He did so because she withheld that her mother had faked her death. That was an arguably weak premise to end what was known as Skyle.

That happened, and concurrently, Claire developed a bond with Harrison. It was too easy to see where the coupling was headed.

As savvy soap fans, the audience looked ahead and wondered if Claire was Kyle’s placeholder. That would make sense as part of a long arc where Kyle and Summer find their way back to each other.

Yet, a believable twist could alter that natural tale. There are various possibilities.

Summer Newman Is Fighting A Significant Opportunity

Claire is inexperienced, and Kyle is her first crush, love, and teacher. Harrison’s potential to gain a sibling increases as they’ve grown closer.

The above could be something Kyle and Claire planned, or it could happen unexpectedly. But in either instance, it would be believable and create a classic soapy outcome.

Summer was cast aside and wants to repair a relationship she feels was needlessly broken. Kyle decided that Claire was his destiny and could further that outcome by creating a new family with her.

If Claire becomes infinitely more than Harrison’s former nanny and special friend, Summer will face a dilemma she likely can’t overcome. That would make all that’s happened since Kyle dumped her acceptable soap.
