Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: What’s Going On With Rachel Black?

Days of Our Lives spoilers note that despite having a trouble-making side, Rachel Black is one of the cutest and smartest younger characters in the land of daytime drama.

Actress Finley Rose Slater has been playing the role of Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) daughter since 2021 and has simply nailed the part.

With that said, there’s been a recent switch-up as of late, and if fans have missed even one or two episodes, the recast might be confusing.

Welcome To Salem, Alice Halsey!

Rachel Black was recently recast, as actress Alice Halsey stepped into the part on

Thursday, April 24. As both Alice and Finley are around the same age – 10 years old – so, it’s been perplexing to fans as to why the original actress was replaced. After all, Finley was incredible as she portrayed Rachel as a sassy, determined, stubborn, yet lovable little girl.

The way Finley balanced Rachel’s DiMera and Black qualities was phenomenal. Generally, recasts at this age are done because a character has been SORASed, but since Alice and Finley are around the same age, this doesn’t seem to be the reason behind the switcheroo in actresses.

With that said, Alice did a great job as Rachel during Thursday’s show. The soap also introduced Alice to fans via their Instagram handle.

Eric Martsolf Comments On Recast

Eric Martsolf did talk to SOD about the Rachel recast, noting, “Honestly, at first, I deeply questioned why she was being recast.

I thought Finley just did a terrific job while she was here.” He added that Finley, “… brought a spiciness and a rebellious flavor to the character that I just thought was lovely,” he told the outlet.

Martsolf tells SOD that Alice is a little older than Finley and brings a slightly elevated maturity level to the character that is needed to where Rachel is heading next. So, it seems that this may be the reason for the change.
