Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Carson Boatman Discusses His Struggles with Forgiveness Towards Sami
Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates reveal fans recently saw Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) learn a secret that has drastically impacted his relationship with his father EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel). Following this, he’s also become a suspect in EJ’s shooting; Boatman recently talked about his character’s current arc and about how this secret could impact his relationship and feelings towards his parents.
Carson Has Played Johnny Since 2021
Carson Boatman is widely recognized for his role as Johnny DiMera on the Peacock soap opera, which he began portraying around 2021. He stepped into this role after the character was aged up, taking over from a pair of young twins who previously played Johnny with another actor in between but only in a dream sequence.
In the series, Johnny is the child of EJ DiMera and Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), conceived after EJ exploited Sami and took advantage of her.
Recently, tension has escalated as Johnny discovered a troubling truth about his lineage, leading to a rift with his father.
The situation becomes even more complex when EJ is shot and falls into a coma, fighting for his survival; meanwhile, Johnny finds himself implicated as a suspect in his father’s shooting.
Carson Talked About Being A Murder Suspect
Recently, Boatman discussed the latest happenings in Salem with Soap Opera Digest; he specifically talked about his character’s conflicting emotions regarding EJ’s recent shooting. Boatman noted, “I don’t think Johnny’s too bothered by it.
Johnny is a suspect, but it affects him, obviously, seeing his father near death.” He also mentioned that playing a murder suspect is more enjoyable for an actor than it would be in reality.
He remarked, “Well, you’re never happy to be a suspect in a murder case in real life, but on DOOL it’s kind of fun. It’s fun to be a part of something with high stakes.”
Carson Talked About His Scenes With Sami Brady
Additionally, Boatman reflected on scenes where Johnny interacts with his mother, Sami, and learns her perspective on the events between her and EJ concerning the rape.
He said, “Johnny has a moment with Sami where she kind of explains her side of the situation of what transpired between her and EJ.” Seeing his dad in the hospital does make Johnny a little softer.
However, it doesn’t change his decision to avoid having a relationship with his father. He also keeps his softened feelings hidden from others.
Carson Talks About Working With Alison Sweeney Again
He remarked that her experiences have led him to respect her even more. She faced the trauma of rape and the challenges that followed, yet she prioritized her children’s well-being and happiness.
Boatman also shared his thoughts on collaborating again with Alison Sweeney, who plays Sami. He expressed, “It’s always a joy to work with her.
I get excited whenever I learn she’s returning to Salem for another round as Sami. She’s an incredible actress, making it enjoyable for both of us to connect and share our emotions while working together.”

So far, I’m somewhat optimistic about Sami’s return. This is not the spoiled brat of Sami Brady that I’m used to. “Sami” has been used as writing her in, for a REALLY short amount of time to further a story. Instead of ReRunRon WRITING a PLAUSIBLE story to explain how it’s Sami’s fault, nah, just pay Ali enough $$$$ so she’ll come in like a tornado, stir things up and then leave till the next time. Now we have I guess the older more mature Sami?? Uh, still not completely buying it! This older Sami has finally gotten therapy, hmmm, still not buying it. And he talk with Belle was amusing. But one thing stood out, she took responsibility for her YOUNGER self and all the impulsive things she did, yada yada yada. Talking with Johnny although discussing the “rape” EJ committed, it was glossed over too. When EJ arrived in Salem in his race car, Ejami’s meetings there was already sexual chemistry between the characters. They lived in the same building, a/c was down, he knocked on her door, hot, sweaty, barely dressed etc. Typical soap stuff. They both wanted each other, but had to keep the angst building up. The eventual “rape” wasn’t a brutal attack that left the victim bruised, battered, bloody, etc. Another site called it more like a transaction. Sami couldn’t rescue Lucas and pull him out of the collapsed cabin, and out of everybody who showed up on that remote road was EJ. He wanted something, she wanted something, quid pro quo. But moving on, Sami discussed all the horrible things EJ did to her and everyone else, but she never divulged to Johnny, that she shot EJ in the head at close range. Hmm, why wouldn’t she make Johnny aware of that? It wasn’t like the gun magically appeared in her hand, it was premeditated, he was passed out in his bed, not sure but I think she shot him twice in the dead. After another coma (yawn) he awoke and couldn’t remember who shot him. So in soapy world, Sami didn’t own up to it. Eventually he did remember it was Sami, but EJ didn’t want her prosecuted. Aw love needs more roadblocks in soap world. I wonder if knowing his mother shot his father in the head and left him for dead would upset Johnny?
I thought we were finally done with ReRunRon and his lame BS stories? Until I saw his name still listed in the credits! Hmm, that DOES make sense concerning the KeyStone Kops investigation!! Again, what are bunch of crap!! Rafe for the umpteeth gazillion times breaks into the Dimera mansion to plant a bug/camera on his desk placed on the desk lamp! Jeez even the KeyStone Idiots should have been able to SEE it. NOPE! Then we have Paulina “letting herself in” aka breaking in, shouldn’t the MAYOR know that’s a crime??? Amy “BIBLE THUMPING” Choi also waltz’s in, supposedly along with most of Salem …… Roman, Kate, Gabi, et al. JJ walked in on Gabi pointing a gun at EJ. YAWN……. Oh, and the best most ridiculous scene was Roman THE EX POLICE COMMISIONER, walking behind the bar and removing the box holding a gun! Yes it was locked, but the key was hidden underneath a beer stein taped to the bottom!!! A TODDLER cold have opened the “locked box”! ReRunRon thought Roman (x head cop) would leave a loaded gun in a box that sat RIGHT BEHIND THE BAR ON THE SHELF, that ANYONE could go behind the bar and pick up the box. Might as well have left arrows pointing to the exact beer stein where the key was “hidden”! Better yet, just take the stupid box and open it at Horton Square on the bench where all Salemites wind up! And speaking of guns, why does Kate have a gun? She’s a charged criminal! As is…..gosh, Lucas, Viviane, Kristine, Hope and Rafe murdered Stefano in cold blood, covered it up, moved the body and put it in a building to be demolished in hours! And the lists goes on and on…… Bo, Hope, Rafe aka “the good citizens of Salem commit the most crimes!!! Jada walks into the Dimera’s and the Kiriakis mansions like she owns them. Maybe Harold should get a hearing aid!
