The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Summer’s Push For Kyle Increases – Claire’s Disadvantageous Position

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) uses any opportunity to be with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). She is playing a long game, hoping he’ll lose interest in her cousin and focus his gaze back on her.

Kyle cares about Summer but appears to only see her as the mother of their son, Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell). Mealor’s character has fallen in love with Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and believes she’s his new soul mate.

Summer is choosing to think that Claire is someone Kyle turned to after their divorce. She represents thin opportunity, with the lack of relationship depth giving Summer a chance to rekindle yesterday and create tomorrow.

Chance Chancellor Is A Stand In

The chance reference above was a wink to what Summer is doing. She cares about Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) but doesn’t see him as her true love. That’s Kyle.

In recent months, Summer has demonstrated that she wants Kyle back. Jealously might have been the only noticeable reaction to Claire’s initially developing relationship with Kyle developing relationship with Kyle.

It was also unquestionably true that Summer felt slighted because Harrison was embracing Claire. But that intuitive young man sensed that his mom was feeling left out and made sure to reinforce his love for her and top spot in his big heart.

Chance has been supportive of Summer. Good feelings have followed their recent relationship pause. However, there appears to be no intensity or plausible path to a long-term pairing unless it is in response to Kyle and Claire getting engaged.

What Does Kyle Abbott Think?

Kyle loved Summer immensely. Devoted viewers recall that this duo was an It couple, on and off, across many soapy years and through different actors portraying the characters.

While Summer, Kyle, and Harrison were mainly off-screen, living in Europe cemented this family. But its return to Genoa City, Wisconsin, eventually led to Kyle coldly cutting Summer out of his life. He did that because she withheld her mother’s faked death story from him.

The hard break in what was Summer and Kyle’s second marriage left matters unresolved. Part of what they are doing now is making amends, and that’s healthy. But Summer’s renewed interest in Kyle is surely growing.

Claire Newman’s First Love Is In Front Of Her

A deranged woman raised Claire. Her great aunt Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) stole Claire from her parents at birth and raised her to be a one-woman soldier in a revenge army.

The plot against the Newmans thankfully failed, and Claire saw the light. She has since been entirely accepted into the fold. Part of her new life includes being able to pursue natural goals, like finding a man who loves her equally.

Summer recognizes Claire’s hold on Kyle, knowing that her cousin doesn’t have comparable experience. Lanier’s character will go full Newman and exploit her rival’s weakness to win this battle. How Claire responds to Summer will impact Kyle, as he’s sure to realize.
