The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers: Carter’s Life-Altering Choice, Hope’s Words Cut Deep!
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) made an agreement that he expected to be honored.
He took Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) at their word. But Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) wasn’t privy to the part of the verbal deal that included Carter’s perceived love, Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).
Steffy didn’t want Carter or Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) to be back. However, she recognized her father’s empathy for Carter because of what he, Steffy, and Eric believe Hope did to him.
But Steffy refused to work with Hope. It was a deal-breaker, as she told her father and grandfather. So, the big meeting Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) and Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) spoke about proved momentous.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan Holds Sway
Steffy compromised, or at least she positioned her decision about Hope in that manner. Whatever she was thinking, Wood’s character is the restored co-CEO at Forrester Creations. That means she shares power.
Eric, the founder and chairman emeritus, wanted Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) back. So, she had his backing.
Ridge, who shares power with Steffy per Eric’s request in recent years, wanted his friend Carter back. So, he had his backing.
Steffy openly stated that she was talked into agreeing to approve the continued employment of Brooke and Carter. But that left one employee out, and Steffy exerted her power.
Goodbye, Farewell, And Au Revoir Hope Logan
Hope couldn’t believe that Steffy would cut Hope for the Future again. Yet, that’s why she was so upset in the cabin when Carter told her what he’d done.
She couldn’t imagine why he threw away all they supposedly accomplished, with the audience raising its collective eyebrows. Carter and Hope only ran the soapy show for months, not years or decades.
But Hope was right to be upset. She knew that Eric, Ridge, and specifically Steffy had it in for her, and they did. Eric and Ridge wanted to believe Hope’s influence over Carter clouded his judgment because of their longtime friendship with him, and let’s be honest; he’s one of the guys. Ridge calls him his best friend and brother and means every word.
Hope also did herself no favors when saying that Ridge and Steffy learned from Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) how to disrespect her and Brooke. That comparison removed any doubt Eric or Ridge had about going along with Steffy’s decision to cut Hope out of their family business.
Carter Walton Has Two Distinct Paths
In one future, he backs Hope and is fired by Eric, Ridge, and Steffy. Ridge said as much when warning Carter not to make the same mistake he just seemingly recovered from.
In a second future, Carter tells Hope he wants to stay at Forrester. With that choice, he likely loses her as a significant other or whatever term might be appropriate for this personal connection.
Staying at Forrester Creations restores Carter’s future and gives him another option. Her name is Daphne.
Leaving FC would put Carter’s business future in needless flux and leave him with Hope. Considering the shallow depth of their relationship, that choice would seem foolish.
