The Bold And The Beautiful: Brooke And Hope Are Each Other’s Reckoning
Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful waited for days to see the episode written and directed by Heather Tom air, and boy was it worth the wait. The mother/daughter fight between Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) was one for the ages. They both said some pretty horrific things, but those things were all true, and they forced each other to take a cold, hard look at themselves in the mirror.
The Bold And The Beautiful: Brooke Has A History Of Putting Ridge Before Her Children, And Degrading Herself At The Same Time
Brooke and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) have a tangled history that spans more than thirty years. It’s an endless cycle of him dumping her, usually for his ex, Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig), then she begs, grovels, and finally seduces him to come back to her. No matter what else is happening in her family, Ridge is the top, if not only, priority. She is smart, beautiful, and wealthy, and she should not be begging any man for anything, let alone an egotistical serial cheater.
Rather than support her mother’s pathetic cycle, Hope made her face it. She made her understand how never putting Hope first has caused gut-level pain while continuing to demean herself. Sure, Brooke exploded with rage, but it was fueled by the accuracy of Hope’s words.
The Bold And The Beautiful: Hope Seems To Forget That She Is In Control Of Her Own Life
Hope has a real problem with accountability. Her life is an absolute mess right now, but it’s like that because of her own miscalculated choices and shrinking conscience. Hope used to be the most honest person at Forrester Creations, and now she still doesn’t understand that stealing the family business with Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint Victor) was the wrong thing to do.
Her lack of accountability and guilt has left her completely alone, and Brooke isn’t feeling much sympathy for her daughter. She reminded Hope that she had warned her about the consequences of a coup, and now those consequences have arrived. But Brooke didn’t stop there, she reminded Hope of all of her other recent missteps with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Thomas Forrester. In each situation, she made a choice that led to pain. These things just aren’t happening to her at random, she has played an active role.
The Bold And The Beautiful: Brooke And Hope Survived This Round
This was by far the worst fight that these two have ever had, with Hope at one point raising a hand threatening to hit her mother. It ended in tears and a huge hug because they recognized the pain and devastation in one another, but the fight isn’t really over because of what has been said. Their words are still out there, and they hold weight and validity. At some point, Brooke and Hope will need to revisit this conversation.
