General Hospital Spoilers: The Hilarious Downfall of the Port Charles Police Department – Are They the Keystone Cops Now?

General Hospital spoilers and updates show the Port Charles Police Department has been missing the mark recently; when will they finally crack some cases? What’s happening at the PCPD; their decisions have often been puzzling, but lately, they’ve crossed into the realm of the absurd.

The PCPD Doesn’t Even Seem To Be Trying

A chilling murder unfolded in Port Charles, leaving the case shrouded in mystery as the PCPD seems indifferent to uncovering the truth. John Cates (Adam J. Harrington) was a man of despicable character, a stark contrast to the once-revered Jagger.

His cruel treatment of Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) was beyond reprehensible, yet that doesn’t justify the point-blank execution carried out by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

In a twist of fate, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was apprehended for the crime and served time in prison, only to be exonerated later. Strangely, the entire incident faded from memory, as if it had never occurred. Sonny walked free, a murderer once again, and the whole situation feels utterly surreal.

Citizen Posses And Vigilante Justice?

A recent case for the PCPD involved a serial killer; patients at the hospital were being injected with a drug that led to heart failure and death.

The police did very little to investigate this crime-instead, residents of Port Charles took it upon themselves to gather information, uncovering more than Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) or the police department did. Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) looked into Turning Woods and GH, with some assistance from Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).

They collected enough evidence to arrest the killer, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), but faced life-threatening danger in the process; the community members solved the case. Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) even killed Cyrus herself; Lucky, Liz, and Josslyn would not have been involved if the police had done their job.

Who Is The Problem Here?

Is Anna truly the issue, or is it Mac Scorpio (John J. York) causing the trouble-could it be that Anna’s connections to the criminal underworld of Port Charles are too entangled? And what about Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna); did he avoid pursuing the case of John’s murder because of his family ties? Meanwhile, is Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) so preoccupied with the idea of starting a family that he’s neglecting his duties?

Perhaps it’s time to consider bringing in some fresh detectives-at least Lucky used to be a detective with the PCPD. The one PCPD cop who was on the right track, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) became a victim-should the PCPD undergo a transformation to effectively tackle crime?
