Days of Our Lives Robert Scott Wilson Breaks Silence On AlexAnn Hopkins’ Exit

AlexAnn Hopkins officially exited Days of Our Lives during the Wednesday, March 19 episode as her character Joy Wesley decided to head back to New York. In fact, the young woman slipped out of Salem without telling her baby daddy, Alex Kiriakis, that she was expecting his child.

Now, Alex’s portrayer, Robert Scott Wilson, is breaking his silence on Hopkins’ departure from the soap.

Robert Scott Wilson Is Surprised

Wilson commented on Hopkins’s Days of Our Lives exit to Soap Opera Digest (SOD) noting he was surprised about her exit, considering the status of her storyline.

He goes on to say, “I don’t know all the ins and outs. We didn’t get to really dig into it personally that much, but AlexAnn is part of the fabric here, and there’s a whole lot of story that’s left to be told. So, I’m sure they’ll do something with her and myself in the future at some point down the line.”

He adds that he’ll miss working with the actress and the spontaneity of their scenes together. Wilson tells SOD the two had a great rapport, and adds, the two had some “gold moments” happen because of the actress’ openness to impulse within scenes.

Will AlexAnn Hopkins Return?

As both Alex and his gal pal, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) were both left in the dark about Joy’s pregnancy – in fact, no one in Salem was privy to the news, except for Sarah Kiriakis (Linsey Godfrey), Joy’s physician who’s bound by doctor-patient confidentiality – there’s a good chance that the young woman will return to Salem at some point, with baby in tow!

How will Alex react to this news? Wilson told SOD that, “I think there was a part of Alex [that thought Joy could be lying about not being pregnant], but he really wasn’t sure. I also don’t think that he really thought it was his [baby], potentially. I still don’t think he knows that.”
