Akinyi Obala Health Update Leaves Fans Hanging

90 Day Fiance stars Akinyi Obala and her husband Benjamin Taylor, finally conceived their first baby together, but she soon ran into health problems. An update arrived, but it left out some things that fans want to know. 

The Medical Tests

While Baby Rue seemed fine, her mom wasn’t thriving. Since early March, on her social media account, Akinyi complained about mastitis. Well, she tried home remedies, and that didn’t help her at all. So, she ended up in a hospital.

The TLC star seemed upset at the hospital. TV Season Spoilers reported on March 22, 2025, that Benjamin sat nearby while she expressed some bloody milk. Alarmingly, in the caption overlay of one photo, Akinyi said that doctors did “a biopsy” on her breast. 

An Update Arrived 

On Monday, Ben shared a picture of himself wearing a shirt that is commonly found in Hawaii. In his caption, he wrote, “Starting the week dreaming of being on the beach. I even have the #hawaiian shirt to match it!!”

Naturally, as fans seemed desperate for news, people asked after Akinyi Obala in the comments section. After all, a breast biopsy is a big deal. In the replies, he promised his TLC fans that he would do an update, but in the meantime, he wrote, “[Akinyi’s] doing okay, hope to post an update later.”

A Vlog Update Followed

The vlog arrived on Tuesday night, and clearly, Akinyi wasn’t as “okay” as Ben suggested. In fact, her breasts are still heavily “engorged,” she said. Plus, they are extremely painful, even to just touch. Anyway, she’s been put on “antibiotics,” so that indicates an infection.

In the video, Akinyi Obala wore a mask, saying that she also had “cold” symptoms and she didn’t want Benjamine Taylor or Rue to get sick. However, neither of them mentioned the result of the biopsy, which was the burning question. Either they await the results, or it came back negative for cancer.

Fans who cheered for the couple, who expected their baby at the same time as Annie Suwan, joined in the conversation in the comments area.
