The Young and The Restless Spoilers: Summer Outplays Claire, Exploiting Her Inexperience

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is falling back in love with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Her brother, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), called her out, and Summer’s reactionary reply was telling.

Summer wasn’t the one who pushed for their second divorce. No, Kyle couldn’t get past the supposed love of his life’s protection of her mother. He used that scenario to create a quick divorce that never felt right to the audience.

As viewers later saw, the intention of breaking Summer from Kyle was to pair him with Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). This development wasn’t natural, and credit goes to Erin and Mealor for making their chemistry seem real.

Chance Chancellor Remains Honestly Interested

Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) has gone oddly missing. He was involved in the hunt for Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) and Ian Ward (Ray Wise). Yet, he was on the periphery of the cases that should have often put him in front of the camera.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) created the breaks in Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) case. Without him, Sharon might be in jail for murder right now.

As with Kyle’s unusual dumping of Summer, it feels like Chance was written to the side of the show. Floyd’s character needed to be temporarily split from Lanier’s so that Summer could shift her gaze back to Kyle.

While Summer and Chance talked out their differences earlier this year, scant screen time has been spent on this pairing, which seems ominous.

Kyle Abbott Faces Serious Opposition

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was very direct with the man who wanted to become seriously involved with his granddaughter. Kyle doesn’t trust the man who was once his mentor long before Mealor joined the cast.

Claire was mortified when Victor told Kyle he would never change his mind. The head of the Newman family is planning another attack on the Abbott family and is specifically targeting Jabot. So, Victor knows that the Abbotts will soon be facing strife.

Why Victor believes his scheme will cause Kyle to turn against Claire is a mystery. Yet, devoted fans know that it will likely prove true when Braeden’s character makes a pointed prediction.

Claire Newman Just Wants Happiness

It’s terrible that Victor can’t shift his mind away from manipulation. That’s what he does when interfering in the lives of his family.

Claire is the latest victim of Victor’s overbearing view of reality. She assumed her rediscovered grandfather would give her the benefit of the doubt. But that, along with respect, is lacking.

Kyle represents Claire’s first love because of the repressed life Jordan forced upon her. Erin’s character is pursuing love, but her cousin, Summer, and grandfather, Victor, don’t care. They agree that Kyle is wrong for her, which spells soapy trouble for Claire.
