The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Sharon And Phyllis Accept Ridiculous Kidnapping Premise

The Young and The Restless: Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) has built her kidnapping muscles. Fresh off being framed by an assumed dead Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and his dead accomplice, Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), Sharon isn’t questioning why she’s back in captivity.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) knows what it’s like to be wronged. More specifically, she knows that Sharon tried to kill her twelve years ago in July.

Case’s character played innocent when saying that they were arguing and she didn’t put her down a flight of cement stairs and leave her for dead when that’s precisely what Sharon did.

This new storyline is a blend of the ridiculous and the soapy great. It’s ridiculous to think that Sharon would escape from Jordan’s kidnapping under Chancellor Park and then be abducted again so soon. However, adding Phyllis as a hostage partner instantly alters the dynamic and creates great daytime drama.

Sharon Case And Michelle Stafford Are Wonderful

There is no reasonable argument about it. There are no two or more sides, and dissent is rightly swatted away as ill-informed.

Yes, Case and Stafford are equally great actors who developed their Y&R characters in a specific way that endeared them to the audience. The Sharon-Phyllis rivalry began after Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) died, and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) dealt with his grief by coupling with Phyllis.

If Sharon were kidnapped and alone again, all fans would justifiably shout at their digital screens, either during the real-time broadcasts or self-selected replays on whatever modern platform they chose. But pairing her with Phyllis in that ugly room is inspiring.

Isn’t Sharon Newman Off Her Medication Again?

Nick took Sharon’s forced burner phone call. He bought her a pressured story of being in Sedona, Arizona. She’s spoken of going there for a mental vacation in recent months.

So, Sharon offered a plausible explanation when saying she lost her phone, purchased a burner, and claimed to have sent texts to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster).

Devoted fans likely believed Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) was left off that list because while the actor’s headshot still appears on the online cast list, he’s not been seen on screen.

Nick’s comment about Sharon being back on her meds to his parents was interesting. Unless her and Phyllis’ abductor is supplying prescription pills, Sharon is off her meds again involuntarily.

Phyllis Summers Survives And Doesn’t Forget

Phyllis and Sharon are bonding due to necessity. They have never liked each other, and their loathing is the real deal, with broken family factors furthering this dual grudge.

Yet, Phyllis was sincere when Sharon faced her cancer crisis. That proved Phyllis likes Sharon being around because she enjoys the battle, and her side fight with Diane Abbott (Susan Walters) doesn’t pack the same historical punch.

Unless a shocker occurs, both actors will continue to please the fans by remaining part of the cast. In that instance, both ladies survive, and Phyllis won’t come to trust Sharon, and that feeling will be mutual with a caveat of this scenario elevating this dynamic connection.
