The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Ian Ward (Ray Wise) started with his agenda. If he accomplishes that, Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk) goal can be met, or at least that’s what’s implied.
Jordan is no pushover. She plotted for more than two decades, first stealing Eve (Claire Newman, Hayley Erin) from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) at birth.
Ian appears to be using Jordan and may never help her realize payback against the Newmans or something far worse. So, Zenk’s equally villainous character is developing a contingency plan.
The answer to the subject header is obviously Ian. But that doesn’t mean he did so to help her.
Ian claims that both plans are close to coming together. Picture the one-time cult leader raising his right hand and showing a space of about two inches between his aged thumb and wrinkled index finger.
If anyone could make the monstrous Jordan seem sympathetic, it would be Ian. He’s put doubt into her mind, with devoted audience members always suspecting that Wise’s returned character was always in this plot for himself.
Even longtime fans need their memories refreshed because, as they know so well, the concurrent storylines on any daytime drama are detail-laden.
The writing staff knows how to read the different audience segments. So, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) served as the vehicle to refresh longtime viewers’ minds and inform newer fans.
She told Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) about her cult experience. Ian led an effort to steal Mariah from Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) when she was born. He raised her in a cult for years until she left and eventually came to Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Of course, Mariah was paid by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to gaslight Sharon. But that is ancient soapy history, with Grimes’ second character fully reconciled with her mother, who Ian and Jordan are holding hostage and intend to kill.
How can the writing staff kill off Sharon?
In two words and a contraction, the staff can’t. That’s almost certainly not going to happen, with Case’s fans expecting her to survive.
Jordan is going along with Ian’s next step, which is to drop Sharon into the river, near where the car crash Zenk’s character caused happened weeks ago. They expect Sharon to drown in the water and simultaneously frame Phyllis for what will be staged as a revenge attack.
It seems increasingly likely that Jordan and Ian will go down, purely in a legalistic sense or possibly to their grisly ends. But maybe one of the villains survives?
