Days of Our Lives Recap Thursday, Jan 9: Tate’s Adoption Idea, Rachel’s Future, Sarah Treats Doug
Days of Our Lives recap for Thursday, January 9, 2025, is here! In today’s episode, Tate Black (Leo Howard) suggests adoption to Sophia Choi (Madelyn Kientz).
Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) wants Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) to get counseling. Plus, Sarah Horton Kiriakis (Linsey Godfrey) treats Doug Williams III’s (Peyton Meyer) injuries.
Stephanie Johnson’s Heart-to-Heart
DOOL recap reveals that Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) stops by to see Sarah at the Kiriakis mansion. Stephanie has head shots for Bonnie Lockhart Kiriakis (Judi Evans) to autograph.
It’s New Year’s in Salem still, but Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) said he wanted to get a head start on business. Stephanie says that is exactly the same thing that Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) told her.
At Titan, Xander is at the desk when Philip bursts in. Xander says what a surprise. Philip is confused, he’s been at work all day. Xander mentions this is the first he’s seen Philip all day. Philip says he was in accounting going through the books. Philip orders Xander out of his chair.
Brady storms into the DiMera mansion to confront Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). Brady tells Kristen that Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) got another text.
Brady says he has a lot going on with Tate right now. Brady threatens to sue Kristen for harassment. After bickering back and forth, Kristen finally says it was Rachel. Kristen explains Ava’s confrontation. Brady blames Kristen.
DOOL Recap: Sophia Choi’s Dilemma
Sophia and Tate are in the town square. Sophia apologizes to Tate for blurring out the truth to Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis). Tate says it’s okay, it’s on him. Tate tells Sophia that Holly took off.
Holly goes to tend to Doug in the park. Holly wants to know who attacked him. Doug claims he doesn’t know. Holly gets ready to call 911 but Doug stops her. Holly suggests a hospital. Doug declines. Doug tells Holly to leave and forget it ever happened. Holly refuses.
Brady and Kristen argue about Rachel and the mob princess. Kristen freaks out and starts screaming at the top of her lungs. Kristen’s veins are popping out so she’s pissed off!
Stephanie tells Sarah about spending more time with Philip. Stephanie hopes that Philip cares more about his father’s company than one-upping Xander. Sarah hopes so too.
Xander Cook Kiriakis’ Battle
Days of Our Lives recap reveals that Xander won’t give up the office chair. Xander sarcastically replies that maybe they should have a duel over the office chair. Philip laughs, then gets super serious and is all for it.
Sarah tells Stephanie how Xander was deprived of the relationship with his father. Sarah suggests it might be good that Philip and Xander are co-CEOs.
Xander and Philip have a solution to the office chair debate. There are now two desks in the Titan CEO office. Xander is starting on a hostile takeover deal. Philip asks what company, to which Xander replies, “DiMera Enterprises.”
Kristen says Brady’s bouncing relationships are why Tate and Rachel are both messed up. Kristen says Rachel just wants Brady’s attention.
Doug has trouble standing up. Doug sits back down from too much pain. Holly has an idea and takes Doug to someone he can trust.
Brady tells Kristen that Rachel’s actions are both of their faults. Brady thinks it’s important to prove to Rachel that her parents can get along.
Philip is rattled, why would Xander go after Kristen’s company after the serum? Xander says he wants DiMera because it would be good for business. Xander figures the infighting at DiMera can work in Titan’s favor. Philip tells Xander that is a huge mistake.
Sarah explains to Sarah why she thinks Xander and Philip working together could be a good thing. Stephanie reasons they could team up and destroy the world. Holly interrupts by bringing a semi-conscious and bleeding Doug into the living room.
Sophia compares her mother’s demands to The Handmaid’s Tale. Sophia explains that her mother has very strong beliefs, but they are different from hers. Sophia really just wanted to get on with her life. Tate suggests another option: Adoption.
Days of Our Lives Recap: Thursday, January 9, 2025
Xander says that Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) bribed thousands of people. Philip warns Xander that Kristen is not one to tangle with.
Sarah examines Doug. Holly lies to Sarah when she asks if they called the police. Holly says Doug is uninsured and hospitals are too expensive.
Sarah doesn’t think anything is broken but Doug’s ribs are probably bruised. Doug will need an x-ray to be sure. Stephanie returns with Sarah’s medical bag. Sarah adds that the cut on Doug’s eyebrow needs stitches. Sarah doesn’t have any anesthetic but Doug tells her to go ahead.
Sophia doesn’t think the adoption will work. Sophia says there is no way her mother will allow someone else to raise the baby. Sophia says her mother would rather raise the child herself than give it to strangers.
Sophia and Tate aren’t sure what to do. Tate knows they aren’t ready to be parents, though. Sophia thinks Tate is just thinking about what’s best for him and Holly.
Kristen tells Brady how she disciplined Rachel. Brady says Rachel is clever and will turn it back on them. Brady reminds Kristen that Rachel is defiant, but as she gets older, her sins could come at a very high price.
Like prison. Brady suggests Rachel get counseling. Kristen says no way! Brady thinks family therapy would be positive. Kristen counters that they aren’t a family. Now they are bickering about Marlena.
Doug worries about getting blood on the rug. Sarah suggests some pain medication and Doug lies down before going anywhere. Holly offers to wash Doug’s shirt so Julie doesn’t freak out. Holly takes Doug upstairs.
Xander brings up Stephanie. Philip confirms they are seeing each other. Philip won’t let Stephanie get caught in the crossfire. Philip wants Titan to be legit. Xander disagrees. Philip reminds Xnader that he can’t make a business move without him, so that’s that.
Tate suggests talking with Sophia’s parents about adoption. Sophia says it won’t help. Sophia does ask Tate to go to a doctor’s appointment with her. Tate agrees.
Doug can’t take off his shirt without wincing. Holly helps Doug strip down. Ooh la la!
