The initial image bears the words, “My home. Lost in an instant; for the past two days, I’ve been engulfed in a storm of screams and tears. I strike the pillows, my face buried deep, as hot tears flow freely-my body feels heavy with sorrow; enduring such a tragedy is an experience for which no one is truly ready.
It’s a whirlwind of disbelief and denial; it feels unreal-I keep hoping that I’ll wake from this nightmare-this past year has been the most harrowing, traumatic chapter of my existence. The mourning goes on.. x,” Serfaty shared beneath a picture of the ruins where her home once stood; all that remains is a pile of debris.
Serfaty took to Instagram to showcase the devastation around her; one striking image captured the wildfires from her airplane window, a haunting reminder of the chaos below.
She also shared clips of her home before the destruction, a glimpse into what once was. To conclude her heartfelt post, she included a photo of her grand mansion, a screenshot of a private chat with her son Roman, and a poignant selfie reflecting her sorrow.
“My heart aches alongside the city for all those who have lost their homes, their memories, and a piece of their lives to these wildfires,” Serfaty wrote in her caption. It is truly a horrible tragedy what those in the Los Angeles area have endured over the past couple of days.
