The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Ian’s Attack On Tessa Revives Battle With Mariah

The Young and The Restless: Ian Ward (Ray Wise)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Ian Ward (Ray Wise) told Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) that more blood needed to be spilled. The implication was that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) would be directly involved in the developing scheme but now Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) has been drugged.

Ian would take advantage of the photo Tessa showed him of her daughter, and now he has. Devoted viewers recall that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) was stolen from her mother, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), at birth and kept in Ian’s cult through her early adult life.

Mariah’s eventual break from the cult led her to Genoa City, Wisconsin, where Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) happened to run into her at, where else, Crimson Lights.

The soapy happenstance led to Mariah agreeing to play her deceased twin sister, Cassie, but later recanting that tortuous game and forming an enduring bond with her mother.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Ian Ward Is No Preacher

Perverting all the good men who are sincere religious people is the vehicle Ian rammed through the prison door. He used his proclaimed conversion to a life of spreading God’s message and became a reverent.

But Reverend Ian is about as far from the light as any man could be. His jailhouse reveal to Jordan was intended to exploit her obsession with the Newman family.

To think that Ian would have been released from prison, regardless of his claimed epiphany, is outrageous. But a variety of unseen fools chose to accept his act because they exploited the concept of redemption, with the audience likely wondering when those supposed authority figures will be imprisoned for the menace they’ve released into society.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Jordan Howard Is Working Her Side Of The Street

While Ian is drugging Tessa, his literal partner in crime, Jordan, renders Sharon unconscious and absconds with her. The irony of Case’s character finally realizing that she’s been framed and then being abducted by the framer can’t be stated loudly enough.

And so fans see the next level of this enveloping plot to create terrible payback. What’s very scary is that Ian and Jordan see them as their persecutors and, therefore, believe all of their actions are justified.

But they’ve always been the assailants. Everyone they’ve attacked, in the past through the current day, is their victim. Ian and Jordan see it differently because they are both morally deranged.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Mariah Copeland Is Doubly Motivated

Mariah will fight as hard as necessary to reclaim Tessa and Sharon. Grimes’ character is perfectly positioned. Who would have greater motivation to end all that Ian and Jordan are doing to Tessa and Sharon, respectively, than Mariah?

This heightening storyline is in at least its first crescendo. While the climax is probably many episodes off, resounding kudos are offered to the writing staff.

Viewers suspected that Jordan would be seen again after she was rushed off to jail following her stay in Victor’s dungeon. However, Ian’s inspired return can not be praised enough. Wise’s scenes with Zenk rank with the best of any actors on this great soap in recent years.
