The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Billy Can’t Be Discounted – Victor’s Dismissal Creates Loss?

The Young and The Restless: Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is thoughtfully considering his next move, which makes his intentions intriguing. He wants to repay Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for stealing Chancellor from him.

Viewers know that Billy’s interpretation of his job loss is highly subjective. He behaved recklessly when Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) accepted Victor’s offer to buy the company.

So, nothing was stolen. Billy squandered the opportunity Jill gave him. The re-hire of Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and the termination of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) came too late for Jill to justify allowing her son to remain at the helm.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – If Jill Abbott Hadn’t Been Ill

Jill’s heart condition remains serious. Her brother, Dr. Snapper Foster (David Hasselhoff), has been providing good care, but she’s not out of the soapy woods yet.

All Billy needed to do was work with Lily, who Jill hired to serve as a counterbalance. However, he could not get along with Khalil’s character, reinforcing Billy’s lack of executive skills.

Walton is a recurring contract player. So, Jill is seen sporadically, which plays into the illness her character is dealing with. That plot point also allowed Billy free reign, which he gambled away. Yes, the pun was intended in that last sentence based on the backstory of Thompson’s character.

If Jill hadn’t been ill, she would have maintained company control. However, circumstances allowed Billy to rise to a position she decided he couldn’t handle.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman’s Grand Gesture

Victor has made countless grand gestures through the years. Buying Chancellor from Jill at a healthy price was a gift to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

The Young and The Restless: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

The fight Nikki waged after Jordan Howard forcibly gave her alcohol was intense. Now, months after regaining her sobriety, Victor felt it best that she left Newman Media.

Installing Nikki atop Chancellor allows her to further the legacy of her dear friend and mentor, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper). Victor was very close to Katherine as well. So, for him, this is a very personal business deal, and sticking it to Billy is merely the cherry on top of the sundae.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Needs A Specific Ally

Phyllis turned Billy’s initial pitch down. While she loathes Victor as much as he does, she didn’t feel it best to take the Moustache on because of Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) and Lucy Romalotti’s (Lily Brooks O’Briant) current needs.

However, viewers were privy to Phyllis and Billy’s text exchange. So, it appears as though she’s in.

Billy needs an ally, and Phyllis has a specific skill set that makes her a dangerous teammate. One character or both could implode and end hopes of paying Victor back.

But it’s also possible that their alliance holds, and Victor suffers an unexpected loss because he severely underestimates the man he still calls Billy-boy.
