The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) revealed a part of herself that the Winters family hadn’t seen before. Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) is glad to be on good terms with that part of his family, as a recently discovered brother gets set to join him.
Damian (with buzz that Nathan Owens, formerly Cameron Davis on Days of our Lives) is Nate’s half-brother through the late Nathan Hastings (Adam Lazzare-White).
Not much is offered about Nate’s family history or backstory. Instead, his current pursuits and interactions with cousins Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) are the focus.
Part of Nate’s personal life increasingly involves Audra. Unexpected emotional comments about her sad parental connections imply that she and Damian have that in common.
Olivia Winters (Tonya Lee Williams) hasn’t been seen since 2012, which is a shame. Williams is a fine actor whose last acting credit came approximately a decade ago.
Devoted fans recall the haunting scene where a young Nate was crossing the street with his father when Nathan was killed. Lazzare-White’s character had an affair toward the end of his life and couldn’t see Nate. He was hit by a car while returning his son to Olivia.
The Nate character was later SORAS’d (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) and recast a few times, with Dominic assuming the role in 2019. He’s referred to his mother on a handful of occasions as being part of the Doctors Without Borders organization that helps individuals around the globe.
This type of storyline is where Olivia’s return presence would fit.
Nate got off-track in recent years. His forced move from medicine, where he was a surgeon, to the business world was rough.
Ambition got the best of Nate as he turned against his cousins and attempted to undermine them. His efforts failed badly, which resulted in a major falling out that was repaired within the last year.
The trust he’s rebuilt has Devon and Lily again assuming family protection status. They’ve been leery of Audra, but her comments at the family celebration dinner held at Society might begin a melting period.
Damian’s mother, Amy Lewis (Valerie Pettiford), is ill. So, Pettiford is likely a short-term cast member unless remission or a soapy cure occurs.
Amy’s pleas to Nate resulted in him agreeing to help her find Damian. Nate did his due diligence in verifying that she did have an affair with his father, which led to Damian’s birth. Nathan was never told about his other son.
Fans can question how Damian fits into the Genoa City, Wisconsin, landscape if the buzz proves true and Owens will be playing Damian. An expanded focus on Nate’s family history happens.
But daytime is always about drama. So, an eventual sibling rivalry based on a triangle that includes Nate, Audra, and Damian would be compelling.
