General Hospital Alum Michael Easton Honors Daytime Drama Colleague & Best Friend With Heartfelt Social Media Post

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that the holidays are a time when families and loved ones gather in the land of Port Charles. It may also be a time when people reflect on those who are no longer here but are forever in their hearts.

GH alum, Michael Easton (ex-Hamilton Finn) recently took the time to pay tribute to a dear friend and former daytime drama colleague.

General Hospital Alum Michael Easton Pays Tribute To Kamar de los Reyes

Kamar de los Reyes worked with Easton on One Life to Live for many years, playing Antonio Vega.

Sadly, the actor passed away on Christmas Eve 2023 after a battle with cancer. He and Easton were the best of friends, so it’s not surprising that Michael took the time to honor his friend on the first anniversary of his passing.

He hopped on Instagram Tuesday, December 24, posting a series of pictures that included Easton, Kamar, and their loved ones. In the caption, Easton starts by acknowledging that he’s thinking of his friend, who passed away a year ago, today.

Easton adds, “Kamar was a man of faith who never lost hope. He loved his wife and his children and their love for him was the life force that kept him going.”

Michael goes on to say that Kamar, “… meant so much to so many,” stating that while he had many fans from his movies, TV, and video game work, Easton simply knew him as his best friend. He goes on to say that for over three decades, Kamar was “always” there for Easton and his family.

The actor notes that “… nights seem a little darker now, but I know he’s still with us, his light guiding us forward. This day reminds me that life is precious, fragile and I am so grateful for every second I get to spend with the people I love.”

Easton received a ton of support from GH fans in the comments section, as well as some former GH co-stars. Rebecca Budig (current Bold and the Beautiful’s Taylor Hayes, ex-GH’s Hayden Barnes) wrote, “Your friendship was inspiring. Thinking of both you and his family tonight. (heart emoji)”

Meanwhile, Marc Anthony Samuel (ex-GH Felix DuBois) stated, “He was such a good man. Definitely missed,” and Finola Hughes, (GH’s Anna Devane) wrote, “Sending love and happiness to your family and friends this Christmas (heart emoji).

Lastly, Jon Lindstrom (GH’s Kevin Collins) commented, “Beautiful words Michael, as I would expect from you. So sorry for your loss and the pain you still feel. Godspeed. Flight of Angels.”
