Dillon, Husband Of Amy King Owes $236k, Why?

Amy King and her husband, Dillon are well-known to Counting On fans as she occasionally appeared on the TLC show with her Duggar family cousins. Now he has to pay $236K, read on to find out why.

Amy King & Dillon Got Their Ducks In A Row?

TLC fans used to admire Dillon and his wife because they planned their life before she started making babies. While most of the Duggar family women quickly started breeding babies after marriage, Amy, something of a rebel, refused to go down that road. So she started working and they got a home before Daxton was born. 

The former Counting On star started a retail outlet but it later closed. Meanwhile, her husband, Dillon started a business that earned them a bit of flack. Named Wellington’s Restaurant and Cigar Bar under LLC  Winston Holdings, TLC fans didn’t like that they sold tobacco products.

Business Struggles for Amy King’s Husband

Well, the business didn’t seem to do very well, and in January this year, Dillon and his partners, Flint Boyce and Cory Gayer, were sued by Hillcrest Holdings, per InTouch Weekly. At the time, Amy King and her husband did not have much sympathy. The company had breached an agreement on rental payment to  Hillcrest Holdings.

This week, TV Shows Ace reported that the Counting On alum’s husband needs to find a lot of money after a lawsuit was filed. Importantly, the other two partners filed for bankruptcy.  Basically, the company stopped paying rent, and unpaid rentals along with legal costs and “interest” will need to be paid. And, it’s a lot of money: $236K. The outlet also noted that Amy King might not have a wonderful Christmas because:

[Dillon] is also required to file a schedule of all his property within 45 days.

Legal documents shared on Reddit revealed that TLC fans seemed shocked that the struggling business got itself into such a deep bucket of debt. 

Where Will They Find $236K?

The Duggar family doesn’t seem to get on with Amy very well, especially since she was so vocal about Josh Duggar’s CSAM arrest and conviction. Deanna Duggar, the mom of Amy King is Jim Bob Duggar’s sister and they seem to be estranged. So, it’s unlikely that the Counting On patriarch will bail them out. Here are some comments from Reddit:

• It’s an absolutely insane f-ck up. He never should have agreed to the settlement unless he had the money to pay it. He should have filed for bankruptcy like the other two defendants.
• How could they let it go up to this point?? Is such a stupid decision. They really thought they could somehow just forget to pay? That it will all go away after one payment? Bah jokes on them now they have to pay way more and soon.
• I wonder how Amy is reacting to all this privately. I get the vibe she tries really hard to portray her life as perfect when it’s not. And 2 days before Christmas, damn that’s crazy!
