But how will Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) respond to his parent’s well-intentioned and highly complex scheme?

They intended to break Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) hold over Kyle. That was successful, or at least appears to be. Yet, the passions that Jack, Diane, and Victor stir create unpredictable fallout because Kyle can’t think logically at this point in the plot.

Jack’s public falling out with Diane always felt rushed. Various characters spoke about the rapid nature of their discord, with viewers likely feeling the same.

However, the actually loving Abbott pairing pushed their ruse to a high degree. They made Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) believe their marriage was over. Diane even held the line when Traci went to her Genoa City Athletic Club suite.

But Jack never stopped loving Diane. Their reconciliation is intact, which reinforces that this union is stronger than ever. They sacrificed, risking Kyle’s wrath during and after, to force him to see Victor’s true colors.

Diane experienced severe mental health issues in the past. So much so that she felt compelled to fake her death and attempt to frame Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) for it.

Walters’ character was off the show for many years, returning to reveal her existence and beg Jack and Kyle’s forgiveness. It took some time, but she made a breakthrough when Kyle realized that his mother’s mental state caused her to make reckless decisions.

It took Jack longer to come around, but eventually, he did because his love for her never died. They were a happy couple together until tensions rose between Diane and Kyle. His termination led Jack and Diane to hatch a plan to save their son.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Did Victor Newman Foresee This Game?

Victor is often many chess moves ahead of everyone. So, it will be interesting to see if he foresaw Jack and Diane playing him.

If the Moustache had anticipated this form of duplicity, he would have played an even higher-level game than his enemies. But if that isn’t true, he’ll explode and seek deep vengeance, as is his pattern.

Kyle will defend his parents from Victor if it comes down to it. While Mealor’s character is understandably incensed, he will see what’s best for his family. Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) calming presence will also help Kyle, who will also consider the best interests of his son, Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell).
