Hope has a way of really revving up certain people. She supercharged Steffy for years due to their battle over Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). Thankfully, B&B’s writing staff decided that arch played out and created John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan).
With Steffy moving onto Finn, Hope and Liam related only to each other. Their final union endured for a while but then dissolved as Liam could not accept Hope’s turn toward Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).
Digitally skipping to now, Carter is in love with Hope. Liam’s out of the picture but doesn’t know it yet, with Carter’s feelings driving his betrayal of Ridge’s confidence.

Ridge was lulled into a passive state, and Carter took advantage of him. Brooke Logan’s (Katherine Kelly Lang’s) tell woke him up.
Kaye’s character learned the truth, with Brooke relaying the conversation she overheard at the cabin between Carter and Hope. To say he’s mad would be the understatement of the year.
The Forrester family will not allow Carter to complete his takeover attempt so that the battle will be on. Teasers indicate that Justin will be called in to assist.
Devoted viewers recall that Justin owes his freedom to Ridge because he forgave him for kidnapping Thomas and holding him hostage in the Spencer Publications building.
But again, why was Justin written into the scenes where Tom died at Il Giardino?

Reenter Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada).
Yamada’s character became one of the greater surprise villains in years. She killed her father, Tom, and her friend, Paul Hollis Hollister (Hollis W. Chambers), because he read Tom’s letters and became an instant threat.
Could it be that Justin is tied to Luna?
If he’s not, the letters she wrote to Bill imply that he’ll ask the friend he reconciled to help her. That was the other reveal around the time of Luna’s murders. Bill forgave Justin, and they are buddies again.
Yet, Justin still owes Ridge and appears ready to help him stop Carter from taking over FC. That could result in Carter and Justin switching spots in their corporate homes.
But a shocker reveal would have Justin romantically tied to Luna in the recent past or shortly.
