General Hospital Spoilers: Move Over Gio — Kai is in Town and Trina is Taking Note!

General Hospital spoilers reveal a new student named Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) is slated to arrive on campus at PCU and pop into Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) life soon.

That’s just about all we know about this kid, but we can expect that any new friend Trina makes of the male persuasion is likely to end up a contender in the race to become the next love of her life.

Trina is slowly but surely moving on from the black cloud of grief she was once living under in the aftermath of Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) presumed death.

Will this new character Kai put the kibosh on anything that may have been transpiring between Trina and Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza)?

General Hospital Spoilers — Was Gio Just to Get Her Over the Hump?

For months, we’ve seen Trina getting closer to Gio. For a minute there, we thought she and Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) might have ended up battling over a boy again, but it appears she’s quite happy with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) right where she is.

o if Gio isn’t around to ramp up the romance in Trina’s life, then he must serve another purpose — like shaking things up for the Quartermaine and Corinthos families.

Is his role in Trina’s life just to support her in getting over Spencer and moving on with school, her work at the gallery, and the next guy who walks into her life?

GH Spoilers Hint Kai Might Compete

It’s also possible that Gio may really care about Trina. There is potential for that to turn into more than just a friendship on the Q grounds where they sometimes cross paths at school.

But right now, she’s busy crossing paths with “QB1” — AKA Kai. Of course, it’ll take time for Kai to break through the animosity Trina already feels toward him.

His reputation precedes him since he has left her high and dry this semester as the partner who hasn’t engaged one single time to do any of the work on their shared project.

But Trina’s sass and attitude sparked some interest in Kai and now he can’t get the girl off his mind. So when he guns hard for her, will it spur Gio to up his game?

General Hospital Spoilers — Will Trina Have to Choose?

It’s fair to say that Trina has also grown fond of Gio, but she hasn’t shown any signs of taking their relationship to another level. She’s still grieving losing Spencer, and she and Gio didn’t get off to the best start.

Things are better between them now, and we actually see them get more face time tha Joss and Gio do. Will she find herself torn between the brilliant and talented artist that is Gio, and the footballer who doesn’t show up for class that is the last guy she’s bound to respect?
