Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers remind fans that as a legendary character in the soap, Vivian Alamain has a ton of history in Salem.

She also happens to have a number of classic storylines and moments over the years, and while they’ve all been scripted, for the most part, actress Louise Sorel shared a major Viv scene with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) that she improvised in the 1990s.

DOOL Spoilers: Celebrating A Terrible Scheme

Days spoilers indicate that one of the most iconic Vivian storylines is when she buried Carly Manning (Crystal Chappell) alive in 1993. With that said Louise improvised a moment of celebration Vivian had after successfully executing her terrible scheme.

Sorel begins by telling SOD, “They (Days writers) wrote this thing where it said, ‘Vivian does a jig on Carly’s grave.’”

She adds, “I don’t know why I remember this, but I guess it’s because it was so funny. I went upstairs to the producer at that time and said, ‘Excuse me, Vivian doesn’t jig. I don’t jig.’”

Sorel notes “So he said, ‘Well, what do you want to do?’ I said, ‘I have no idea. I’m going downstairs, and I’ll figure it out on the lunch hour.’”

Days Spoilers: Coming Up With A Dance Number

Sorel tells SOD that she went back to her dressing room to come up with a victory dance suitable for Vivian, stating, “I was by myself, nobody was there, and I came up with this ridiculous thing thinking of Ophelia,” – referring to the character in Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Sorel adds, “I did this sort of walk around the grave saying, ‘She loves me. She loves me not.’ I don’t know where that came from.”

When it was time to shoot the scene, the actress stated, “They said, ‘Okay, what are you going to do?’ Then they said, ‘Pull the camera back.

We don’t know what she’s going to do.’ So, I did that, and they liked it. I think they’ve shown [that scene] a few times [over the years], and that’s how it happened.”

Who knew that the scene was improvised? It only took three decades to come out!
