Megan Thee Stallion Reveals BTS Collab Coming Soon
When a first collaboration goes as smooth as butter, you gotta return for a second one. Megan Thee Stallion and BTS recently teased a new collaboration that’s coming too.
This will mark the band’s first return to music as a group after they took a hiatus to complete their army service.
Megan Thee Stallion Taps World’s Biggest K-pop Stars BTS For Upcoming Song
Megan Thee Stallion sent fans spiraling when she teased an upcoming collaboration with a couple of emojis on X. “X ” she posted.
At the time, some fans managed to guess that the purple heart emoji signified that she would be teaming up again with one of the biggest boy bands in the world, BTS, for another smash hit. “HELLO?? PURPLE HEART?? BTS???” one fan guessed. “BTS COLLAB ?? NO ONE MOVE,” another gushed.
The following day, BTS confirmed the news by sharing Megan’s post on their official X account and adding a new set of emojis. “X(),” they wrote.
The upcoming song will mark the second time that the American rapper has worked with the Korean boy band, as the two jad previously teamed up for the latter’s remix of their hit single, ‘Butter.’
Megan Thee Stallion further joined the seven-member band to perform the remix of the chart-topping single ‘Butter’ at BTS’ concert in Los Angeles in November, 2021.
“I love BTS, and I was telling my manager, ‘I really want to do a song with BTS, I don’t know what I can do or what we’re going to do,’” she recalled to Entertainment Tonight in February, 2022. “Around that the same time, they wound up reaching out to me and asking me to do the ‘Butter’ remix. So, I was like, ‘Oh my God.’”
This won’t be the first time this year that the ‘Hiss’ rapper has released a bilingual song, as she worked with Japanese rapper Yuki Chiba to release the TikTok-viral song, ‘Mamushi.’
The song is named after a type of snake mainly found in Japan. This continues the rapper’s snake-like imagery, which she started in previous singles like ‘Cobra,’ ‘Hiss,’ and ‘Boa.’
In the video, she is seen transforming into a giant snake that tears men apart. There are also a few nods to Japanese culture.
