General Hospital’s Maurice Benard Dabbles In A Fun Duet With Son, Joshua

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Sonny Corinthos’s life is pretty complicated in the land of Port Charles right now; however, his portrayer, Maurice Benard, seems to be living his best life.

Fans may recall that his son Joshua Benard, once was on GH (Adam Wright), and viewers knew that the young man was a talented musician. But did they know that he and his dad liked to dabble in music together, from time to time? Well, if they didn’t before, they know now!

Joshua hopped on social media recently to share a cute clip of him and his dad. He posted a video on his Instagram handle that has him playing the 1977 hit from the Commodores’ called “Easy” on the piano, while he and his dad sang to it, together.

With that being said, Maurice struggled to recall some of the words and suddenly abandoned the song, just as the two were about to hit the chorus.

Joshua made sure to note that, writing in the caption, “My dad left before the best part!”

Of course, GH fans flooded the comment section, but the more interesting note was the one from former GHer, Vanessa Marcil who played Sonny’s love interest, Brenda Barrett.

In her comment she writes, “Your responses are genius” (with a laughy emoji). After all, the expression on Joshua’s face after Maurice wanders off is hilarious (not to mention his dad’s face as he struggles to remember the lyrics)! Josh responded to Vanessa’s comment with a laughy emoji with its tongue hanging out.

GH fans were delighted in March 2022 when Joshua joined the soap as a new character, Adam Wright. He attended PCU, and while he started off a bit shady, he redeemed himself and become friends with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali).

Sadly, Adam was a musician who was forced to study medicine because of his controlling father, who wanted a doctor in the family, not an artist. Adam was depressed and did try to take his own life; however, thanks to Joss he survived and ended up realizing he needed to live life for himself. Josh exited the canvas earlier this year, but could Adam ever return?
