General Hospital spoilers tease Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) is a rather hot commodity these days. He might be down in the polls for a minute as an up-and-coming Congressman, but his popularity on the home front is rising.
In particular, one mother-daughter duo can’t seem to get enough of him. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is practically stumbling over herself to get closer to Drew — and her daughter, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), is fighting back her feelings for the guy that just won’t stop growing.
We know, this can’t end well. As Nina steps up her game and inches closer to being another notch on Drew’s bedpost, Willow is bound to grow green with envy. All the while, Drew is in the middle and may have to decide which lady he wants more.
The writing is already on the wall. Drew might enjoy Nina’s “company” from time to time, but that’s all this has been for him. The mutually beneficial work relationship that has sometimes bled over into something more still isn’t the level of “more” he would apply to his feelings for Willow.
He readily shared with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) that he knows there is really passion and desire between them. So, why wouldn’t he pick Willow?
When Willow first confided in Nina about her Independence Day smooch with Drew, she was unburdening herself of the guilt she was carrying.
She needed to hear someone else say it would be okay, and to not tell Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). Will she start wielding threats in Drew’s direction if she thinks she’s going to lose his interest?
Sure, she doesn’t want him to bust up Willow’s marriage, but is it just because she cares about her daughter and grandchildren, or is it because she wants Drew for herself?
Nina knows if Michael ends their marriage, Willow and Drew will be free to be together. So Willow’s cheating must stay a secret.
Speaking of secrets, the last thing Drew wants is for Willow to learn he was already sleeping with her mom when he kissed her. Can Nina make herself the victim in this situation?
The short answer to why Drew wouldn’t pick Willow if he had to choose is because Willow isn’t available to him. While Nina is clawing her way into his bed, Willow is doing everything in her power to stay away from him.
While Nina is stoking the chemistry between them and flirting dangerously, Willow is making things awkward and painful. So unless Drew can actually have Willow, he will probably settle for Nina. We smell trouble. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead to see how this plays out.
