General Hospital Spoilers: Anna’s Ready To Take Sonny Down After Cates’ Shocking Murder

General Hospital spoilers tease that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is one of many people who has changed their tune about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) over this past year. Up until recently, Sonny and Anna were basically friends and allies.

They’ve worked together many times over the years, and they had quite a bit of respect for each other. This was especially true last year when Anna was targeted by unknown parties, Sonny offered help, including a bodyguard.

General Hospital Spoilers – Anna Devane changed her tune!

Anna changed her tune not long after becoming Police Commissioner once again. Anna learned about Sonny’s past with Karen Wexler (Cari Shayne) and FBI Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington).

She also discovered that Sonny had ordered Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to murder Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). She then made it clear to Sonny that she would not hesitate to put him away if the opportunity presented itself.

GH Spoilers – Laura Collins encouraged Anna Devane to take Sonny Corinthos down

Earlier this year, Sonny beat Cyrus to an inch of his life. Cyrus didn’t immediately set out to press charges, but his sister Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) was horrified. While she knows exactly the kind of man Cyrus is, Sonny’s level of brutality shocked her.

She made it clear to Anna that any goodwill she had for Sonny shouldn’t keep Anna from putting Sonny in prison. Anna agreed but until now the opportunity really hasn’t presented itself.

General Hospital Spoilers – John Cates was murdered in cold blood

Sonny has apparently killed Cates in cold blood at the Quartermaine family boat house. He’s going to ask Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to be his alibi, but Anna will slowly piece together what happened when Cates died.

And she may very well be able to make a case against Sonny for the murder. Since Cates is an FBI Agent, Sonny could likely go prison for the rest of his life if Anna is able to get enough evidence against the mobster.
