Young and the Restless Spoilers: Christel Khalil Talks About “22 Years” In Genoa City As Lily Winters
Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate the land of Genoa City changed forever on August 15, 2022, when the role of Lily Winters was SORASed, and Christel Khalil entered the picture.
The actress recently sat down with Soaps.com to talk about this incredible milestone.
Y&R Spoilers: From “Bratty” Teen To Corporate Powerhouse
Regarding her character’s entry in 2022, Khalil tells Soaps.com that Lily was kind of a “bratty” teenager, but aren’t all teens a little bratty in daytime drama?
Still, the actress clearly remembers walking onto the Y&R’s set the first time, stating she was working with Victoria Rowel (ex-Drucilla Winters) and was really nervous!
She adds that Lily was being a tad obnoxious in her scenes, and it was all so fun. Khalil also reveals the support system she had in Rowell and the late Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), stating, “It was all so fast-paced, and I wasn’t used to that.
But I was stepping into this family that was, both on-screen and off, wonderful and supportive. It made everything so much easier.”
Y&R Spoilers: Reflecting On Lane
While Lily is a single pringle now, she’s had some pretty incredible relationships over the years. Still, one major romance was her love story with Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard).
When it comes to the Lane super couple, Khalil notes it was more about Lily reacting to things and less about communication. She adds, “They spent so much time figuring out their relationship and working through the problems that came up that she wasn’t really able to focus on becoming her own person.”
Christel notes in the interview that her character is in a “healthier” place now, stating that Lily has “… grown, and she’s in a much better headspace than she was even just a few years ago.”
