Hope is seen as a Brooke spin-off, with the two rejections of Thomas’ marriage proposals confirming that genetic history flows. Steffy is thrilled that her brother did not marry Hope and feels fully vindicated.
Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) back Steffy as an essential Forrester Creations boss. She also sees herself as the matriarch of the Forrester family, which sets up the intriguing return of her mother, Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig).

Taylor’s departure from Los Angeles, California, was unceremonious. Now, the audience knows why that character, formerly played by Krista Allen, was written out of the show for a purpose.
The recast to Budig means that Taylor is back for a likely extended stay. Whether she was in Monte Carlo by chance or was pursuing Ridge will be explained.
Steffy did not expect a call from her mother while handling FC during Brooke’s Bedroom relaunch. She was moved by Taylor’s message and is regaining a needed ally.

Hope learned a lesson during the repeated battles for Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). She can not expect to fight clean and win.
Brooke and Steffy are up at this point in the plot. Hope feels down and Taylor was out but is returning to seek redemption.
Finn is not in love with Hope. However, devoted daytime fans know that one mistake can change everything.
Steffy will be inclined to believe that Finn not telling her about Hope coming on to him was a mistake. Brooke and Steffy will be on the same side in opposing Hope’s reckless pursuit of Finn, with that effort not correctly written in the past tense.
The last strike in the battle Hope intends to win has yet to be taken. Steffy is an experienced fighter and has no problem defending those she cares for.
