The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) is behind bars, charged with double murder. But she’s also fighting to prove that her paternity claim is valid.
Poppy is likely not a double murderer and has been set up. Too much circumstantial evidence and logic leads viewers to believe she is a temporary suspect who will eventually be cleared.
A separate mystery is concurrently playing out. How could Poppy’s paternity claim have been tampered with if Li Nozawa (Naomi Matsuda) administered the test?
Li would not allow her sister to avoid lying to Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). Matsuda’s character felt compelled to protect Bill because of the great lengths he went to help her.
Devoted viewers recall that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) discovered that Li faked John Finn Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) death by filing a false death certificate. She did that at a point in the plot when Li believed the Forrester family was responsible for exposing Finn to Sheila.
Brown’s character eventually discovers Li kept Finn alive in a remote location. Sheila attacked and darted after Li in a high-speed car chase reminiscent of an ’80s action movie sequence.
Li was certain Poppy was lying about Bill being Luna Nozawa’s (Lisa Yamada) father, but the paternity test confirmed it, or so it seemed.
Bill is many things, but he is not a trained medical test administrator. So, there could be a simple answer for the outcome of the test he conducted.
It’s reasonable to think that Bill made a mistake with the test, and the results are wrong. He could have contaminated the samples. Alternatively, the test does have a percentage attached to it, and the outcome may have fallen within the error range.
Luna agreed to a second test because of her mother’s arrest. Poppy’s word could not be taken as accurate based on everything revealed leading to her arrest.
Maybe Poppy didn’t tamper with the first test, but its outcome could still be wrong, as Bill’s test results prove.
She could be telling the truth. The test Poppy bought was possibly flawed, or Li inadvertently corrupted it.
It seems unlikely, but possible, that Li is the killer. As part of her frame, she rigged the test to favor Bill. But that question does not jibe with Li’s stunned reaction when the test appears to prove Bill as Luna’s father.
If Poppy was not involved in rigging the first test and neither was Li, and Bill is still not Luna’s father, then Park’s character will be distraught. But the first issue she needs to resolve is beating the murder charges against her.
