Prada Taps aespa's Karina As New House Ambassador

Fashion houses have got it hot for the girls of aespa right now. Just a few days after Versace signed on NingNing – another member of aespa – as one of its house ambassadors and the official face of their new Kleio bag, Prada has decided to tap Karina.

The four-member K-pop group has managed to secure a global audience with their music and their artistic integration of AI and virtual reality.

Prada Further Dips Its Toes Into the K-pop Phenomenon With the Signing of aespa’s Karina

Karina, who at 24 is the lead member of aespa, will be joining other South Korean talents like seven-member boy band Enhypen, Kim Tae-ri, singer Jeon So-mi, and songwriter and actor and NCt boy band member Jaehyun, as Prada’s ambassadors.

Prada revealed the big signing by sharing several beautiful pictures of Karina on their Instagram page on Aug. 8. In the pictures, she is positioned in front of a simple white background in a coquette frock. In what is clearly a nod to the stacking trend, the black high-neck, body-con midi dress was covered in satin bows.

To complement the look, Karina’s hair was parted slightly to the side, with her bangs slicked down and swept across her forehead. Her makeup was kept minimal, with the blush adding some lively color to her complexion.

“Prada is pleased to announce Karina, South Korean singer and leader of K-pop group aespa, as Prada’s brand ambassador,” the post read.

Before this new signing, Karina had often drifted to Prada brands for her high profile appearances, even when the brand was still under the creative direction of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simmons.

Prior to the signing, Karina had been under a contract with Givenchy, alongside her aespa group mates Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. Since then, the girls have managed to go on to secure separate deals with fashion houses: Giselle has joined Loewe and NingNing recently signed with Versace.

In May, the girls released their critically acclaimed debut studio album ‘ARMAGEDDON,’ featuring songs ‘Supernova,’ ‘Live My Life,’ and ‘Melody.’ Before then, the girls had dropped several EPS and made a big splash with their debut single, ‘Black Mamba.’
