K-pop Singer Taeil Kicked Out of NCT, What We Know!

NCT has decided to go separate ways with one of their members after he was accused of serious sexual crimes. At the moment, the alleged perpetrator Moon Taeil is collaborating with the police as they lead investigation into the case.

NCT Releases Statement To Explain Reason the K-pop Group Has Decided To Move On Without Taeil

According to SM Entertainment, Taeil is doing all he can to assist the police in their investigation. However, this was not enough to save him from losing a spot on the global boy band NCT, which is known for such hits as “Fast Check,” “Favorite” and “Regular.”

The 25-member K-pop group’s management, SM Entertainment, shared the shocking development in a statement on X, where they detailed the reason they’ve decided to part ways with Taeil.

“We have recently confirmed that Taeil has been implicated in a criminal case related to sexual crimes,” the translated text from company read.  They continued: “We recognized the seriousness of the issue, and we have decided that Taeil can no longer continue team activities. We have discussed this matter with Taeil, and it has been decided that he will leave the group.”

The announcement naturally sent fans spiraling as they question the future of the group. The post alone is said to have reached around 88 million impressions, with a significant amount of shares and comments.

SM Entertainment concluded their message with an apology to fans, “We deeply apologize for the controversy caused by our artist.”

Taeil has been with the group NCT (short for Neo Culture Technology) since its inception. Since then, he has managed to garner millions of supporters alongside the band’s growing fanbase. However, since his booking for sexual offense in June, fans have openly shared their disgust for his behavior by destroying merchandise and burning photocards. Many fan accounts that support him have promptly shut down and issued an apology to potential victims.

As if that’s not enough, all the members of NCT have unfollowed him on social media. A quick FYI, Taeil’s sexual crimes have not been confirmed to involve a minor as many suggest.
