Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers confirm that Trevor St. John is out as Tucker McCall on the soap. The actor confirmed this via a series of tweets on X, starting with one that said, “As you well know, Tuckers come and Tuckers go and so the cycle continues … this Tucker is in his go phase …”
St. John posted this on June 18, which was seemingly the last time fans saw Tucker on screen.
There wasn’t really a nice bow to wrap this storyline up, and it’s been weeks since fans have heard or seen McCall. This begs the question … will Tucker experience the same exit as Paul Williams (Doug Davidson)?

Y&R spoilers remind fans that Paul Williams was one of the longest-running characters on the show before he oddly disappeared off the canvas. While he was mentioned here and there, and eventually returned for a brief stint, the last time fans saw him was in November 2020.
There was a long time when there was no mention of Paul, which was crazy since he was such a staple in Genoa City as the Police Chief.
When 2022 rolled around, his storyline came to a close, and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) was the one who relayed the story to help “wrap things” up for Paul and why he was no longer in GC.
Tucker is somewhere in Paris, likely still reeling from Audra Charles’s (Zuleyka Silver) betrayal. Will he return? Will he be recast? Is there a bigger story on the horizon?

If Tucker stays in Paris, only for fans to be updated about him through other characters, it’s not necessarily the end of the world. McCall and St. John won fans over thanks to Tucker’s quick wit and charm and will be missed, but the character didn’t hold the legacy and impact that Paul did.
Having said that, even though time has passed, fans still resent the way the show handled Doug and Paul’s exit. He was introduced in 1978, and Davidson stayed in the role for over four decades before he was placed on the back burner.
Paul holds so much history and roots in Genoa City, and the fact that he and Davidson quietly exited, without a big hooray, still leaves a bitter taste in some Y&R fans’ mouths.
