The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Custody Chaos, Summer Blamed For Phyllis’ Sacrificial Crime?

The Young and The Restless: Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) are going to war over Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell).

In the Friday, July 26, 2024 episode, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) told Summer to take detailed notes of everything and to follow the letter of the law.

For Phyllis to say this, I have to wonder… is Phyllis doing something to ensure Summer gets custody, something that Summer knows nothing about? Keep reading and let’s discuss the possibilities!

Kyle Abbott’s Paris Plan

Y&R spoilers reveal that Summer just couldn’t stop making comments to Kyle about his dynamic with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).

That led to Kyle threatening to take Harrison as well as Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) to Paris with him. Kyle continued getting under Summer’s skin by using her insecurities.

Y&R Spoilers: Summer Newman’s Determination

After Kyle’s threat, he knew Summer would try to legally block him from going. So, Kyle raced home to ask Claire about a passport. When Claire learned why Kyle was asking, she declined the offer. Later, Claire ended up agreeing.

While Kyle was persuading Claire, Summer put in a phone call to her lawyer. Summer got a call back while she was with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). Summer was devastated to hear that she couldn’t stop Kyle from taking Harrison to France.

Phyllis Summers’ Wisdom

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that in the very next episode, Summer showed up at Kyle’s house. Summer suddenly claimed a different judge approved her request.

At first, I thought Summer was being dishonest. If not a full lie, then maybe a half-truth. After Summer’s conversation with Phyllis, though, I have a new theory.

In the episode that aired on Friday, July 26, 2024, Phylllis warned Summer to keep following the law. Phyllis told her daughter to make sure she obeys every tiny line and keep detailed notes of everything. Summer never even hinted about doing anything illegal in that conversation.

So, I have to wonder why Phyllis said it. Then, Phyllis and Summer brought up missing out on Daniel Romalotti, Jr’s (Michael Grazaidei) entire childhood. So, Phyllis might do something extreme to prevent Summer from going down a similar path.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Sacrificial Crime?

Maybe Phyllis wants Summer to be sure to follow the law and take detailed notes because of a scheme. This scheme might be redemption for Phyllis, though.

Maybe Phyllis commits some sort of crime to help Summer win custody of Harrison. At some point, Summer will be blamed or at least accused of knowing about the scheme.

Phyllis and Summer have been down a similar road before, except it had nothing to do with Harrison. Summer didn’t react well to having to hide a criminal secret.

So, I could see Phyllis doing this without Summer’s approval or knowledge. In the end, will it earn Phyllis redemption, or could Summer lose custody of her son as well as her mother to prison?
