Prince George Celebrates 11th Birthday Amid Strange Rule Set To Take Place

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s son Prince George celebrated his 11th birthday and in the most low key way. One would think the young prince would be treated to an all out bash but the royal family kept things traditional with family and just close friends.

A Tough Year For Prince George

Several sources have shared that the royal family decided to keep things small after a tough year for the family due to Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis as well as King Charles also battling cancer.

“William and Kate have done pretty much anything they could to make George’s childhood a relatively normal one — as they have with all their children. But this has obviously been a tough year for George, Charlotte and Louis, with both their mother and their grandfather waging very public cancer battles,” Author Christopher Andersen, recently shared.

Prince George’s Teen Years Set To See Changes Due To Royal Laws

Following the celebration of his 11th birthday that was said to include a homemade cake made by Kate with family dinner, George is on the heels of some new changes set to take place in the next couple of years.

In order to preserve the royal line as George gets older, certain rules and precautions have been put in place. One rule set to be put in place is the flying rule. “Starting at age 12, heirs to the throne are required to take air trips separately to preserve the line of succession should an accident occur,” Andersen shared. Adding, ”When William turned 12, he began flying in a separate royal jet apart from his father and brother Harry.

At the age of 16 years old, Prince George will also take part in planning his own funeral. ”It’s a morbid rule, but then again, when they turn 16, all senior royals are also asked to help plan their own funerals,” said Anderson.

As for now, George can enjoy being a kid with both Kate Middelton’s cancer treatments said to be going well and King Charles also seeing success as he beats cancer.
