General Hospital Spoilers: Giovanni Mazza Talks About His Instant Connection With Tabyana Ali

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that there’s a budding romance developing between Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), and the two have certainly hit it off as friends.

Gio’s portrayer, Giovanni Mazza recently talked about his real-life friendship with actress Tabyana Ali to Soap Opera Digest (SOD).

GH spoilers tease that Gio and Trina could become more than just friends, although, at the moment, they are just buddies. Mazza tells SOD that the weekend before the two had scenes to film together, he reached out to her to hang out. He had watched the show during his process of auditioning and became a big fan of hers.

The two initially met for coffee but got along so well, they headed to the mall together to walk around. After doing that, they ended up grabbing food together.

However, this wasn’t just a “quick” meal, as Mazza notes they spent about six hours together talking, as they just “clicked” and ran over the lines for their first scene to prepare for filming.

Sounds like Gio and Tabyana connected instantly, and the same thing could be said for Trina and Gio. Still, one major thing that helped Ms. Robinson warm up the Bensonhurst hunk was his violin playing, and Mazza tells SOD he is happy when he gets to incorporate his real-life violin skills within his scenes on the show.

Mazza adds that the pieces he plays on the soap are a “collaboration between the writers, the musical director, and me. Our musical director, Paul Glass, has been so great and he told me that if I want to play what the writers (scripted) I can, or if I want to play something else, I can totally do that. He’s been super cool about everything, and I would love to play even more.”
