General Hospital Spoilers say Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) didn’t hold back when laying into Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) about her illegal business activities with Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).
For whatever reason, it seemed as though Sam wasn’t at all concerned about the position she would be putting her beau in by telling him what happened and why Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has been acting as an informant for the last two and a half years.
Instead, all of Sam’s focus was on her burning rage toward her ex-husband for putting Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) best interests ahead of his own family and children.
Now, rumor has it Dante is going to wind up in a fairly compromising position where he will have to choose between two difficult paths at a fork in the road of his relationship. Will he protect Sam at the cost of his career?
Sam knew what she was doing when she asked Spinelli to break into the FBI’s evidentiary database and secure the dirt they were using to compromise Jason and force him to act as their informant.
Special Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) appears to be out of the loop, but could it all be an act? If he is onto Sam and Spinelli, he could use this as further leverage to get Jason to continue acting as his informant long after he turns over Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) as the head of Pikeman. However, he may also decide to take a different approach.
Jagger may have exhausted Jason’s use for him at this point — especially since so many people have found out he’s an FBI informant.
Instead, he could turn toward blackmailing Dante and trying to make him a dirty cop working on both sides of the fence. Will Dante allow himself to be compromised the same as Jason was all in the name of protecting Sam?
That’s a big ask for him to give up his career as a clean cop just to save Sam from paying for her own crimes. Will he do it?
Sure, Dante loves being a cop. He thought about leaving it behind for a hot minute, but all it took was a kind conversation with Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) for him to backpedal back into striking with the force.
While this didn’t exactly bring a smile to Sam’s face, she made a concession knowing he was a cop when she met him and shouldn’t expect that to change now — a stark difference from the way she treated Jason once upon a time.
For Dante, it may not be the badge that guides him in telling the truth and risking losing Sam and her winding up in prison.
Instead, Dante has to be able to sleep at night knowing he did the right thing, and for him, that means following his moral compass and reporting crimes — no matter who has broken the law.
Will he lose his relationship with Sam in the process though? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
