Young and the Restless Spoilers: Michelle Stafford On Why She & Bestie Finola Hughes Could Star In A Comedy Together

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Phyllis Summers may not have a ton of friends in Genoa City; however, her portrayer, actress Michelle Stafford seems to have a nice circle of people she can lean on.

One of them happens to be former GH colleague, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and fans only have to peep at both Hughes and Stafford’s social media handles to see how close these besties are.

In fact, Michelle even gave her friend a nod recently after she accepted her 2024 Daytime Emmy award in the Lead Actress category – an award that Finola was also nominated in.

Y&R Spoilers: The Two Ladies Have History

Believe it or not, there was a time (multiple times, actually) when Michelle Stafford wasn’t seen on the Y&R. In fact, during 2014 and 2019, the actress lived in the land of Port Charles, as Nina Reeves (now played by Cynthia Watros); a character she originated.

Finola and Michelle likely loved being on the same set during that time, although the two didn’t share a ton of scenes together as Anna wasn’t (and isn’t) exactly in Nina’s orbit.

Still, Finola and Michelle didn’t “meet” on the GH set, as Stafford recently revealed in an interview with Michael Fairman TV that their friendship dates back to 1997 when the two worked together on a primetime soap known as Pacific Palisades.

Y&R Spoilers: Besties For The Resties

Soap Opera Digest (SOD) recently asked a variety of daytime drama stars, “Who Would You Cast To Star Opposite Of You In A Buddy Comedy”, during their weekly Actor Roundup column.

From Dominic Zamprogna (GH’s Dante Falconeri) to Gio Mazza (GH’s Gio Palmieri), Tracey E. Bregman (Y&R’s Lauren Fenmore), Susan Walters (Y&R’s Diane Abbott), among others, Michelle Stafford was also asked the question, and here’s what she had to say: “Finola Hughes. We’re already a buddy comedy.”

There’s so much truth to this statement! The two have been known to goof around in the best possible way! Fans only need to head to Stafford’s Instagram account, and look at a recent video post, with the caption, “’Does it taste good or does it taste like @ss’ #Y&R and #GH edition” where she and Finola share some hilarious banter.
