When Calls the Heart is Hallmark’s most successful series. It follows the residents of Hope Valley, which was previously known as Coal Valley. Although it seems like the perfect little town, it still comes with challenges. The show is based on Janette Oke’s book of the same name.

The popular series first originated as a Hallmark Original Movie in 2013. Like the movie, the show focused on the character of Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a teacher who moved to Hope Valley after receiving her first class assignment. She adjusted to her life in the small town after being accustomed to the high-society lifestyle.

When Calls the Heart became an instant hit. It currently aired 11 seasons and over 100 episodes. Hearties wonder if this show will go on forever. There has been speculation about Season 12.

Was WCTH Renewed For Season 12?

Hallmark Channel hasn’t renewed When Calls the Heart for Season 12. Hearties think the announcement will occur at Hearties Family Reunion, an upcoming fan event.

The official WCTH Instagram account announced the event on Tuesday, May 7. The event is set to take place from September 13 to 15 in Vancouver, British Columbia. In an interview with The Cristophers Blog in April 2024, executive producer and co-creator Brian Bird shared his plans to continue the show.

“The best legacy of When Calls the Heart [is it] has fostered friendships all over the world between people who didn’t know each other until they started watching the show, and then the show became a catalyst for them to have a friendship,” he said. “Those friendships are going to outlive the show.”

Bird teased that When Calls the Heart Season 11 will have a cliffhanger. But it will still provide more closure than previous seasons.
